I'm hoping one of you guys can help me out with your endless repository of Corsair documents and information.
I'm looking for pictures of the F4U-1, White 7, Daphne 'C'. All I have to go by that I consider in any way reliable is this painting:

I'm looking for anything that clearly shows the top, bottom and starboard sides, as well as a close-up of the nose art.
I know that the pilot, James Cupp, had another plane with the same name and nose art, but that was White 15, and it HAS to be White 7. DOA: as a Walsh fan you may be interested in this bird as it was originally his White 13.

I'm also skinning Olander's White 576 "Marine's Dream." The problem is I can't find any CONSISTENT information on the aircraft. I've seen her variously attributed to VMF-214 and 222 at the time the plane was damaged beyond repair in a crash landing, and I've found ONE picture of the actual bird. It's while a crane is lifting her out of the mud, and the three things I NEED to know about her I can't see from the pic:
Was the nose art on both sides of the cowl (pic is of the port side)?
Did the underside of the wings have blue outer panels as standard on Corsairs, or were they gray all the way to the wingtips as I've seen in a few models/paintings (the pic shows the upper surfaces only)?
Was the vertical stab gray or blue (the stab was torn off during the wreck, and what few references I can find are split)?
And of course, just WHAT squadron was she officially assigned to at the time she was destroyed? I have the Navy BuNo if that helps, at least with the squadron: 02576

VMF-214 is the squadron it belonged to. Picture I have has it in a standard '42-'43 paint job
