Title: Anyone done an E-invite before?
Post by: Ripsnort on August 02, 2006, 08:11:44 AM
We're looking to have a Labor day BBQ, and I was wondering if anyone's used those online E-invites before...any suggestions for ones that are "safe" that don't end up collecting email addy's and spamming them later?

Advanced thanks!

I prefer the old-fashioned way. Address an e-mail to yourself, then add everyone you want to mail to the "BCC" field. That way nobody can "Reply All" and spam the list, all RSVPs etc come only to you.

Watch out for the BCC part, it ends up in most recipient's spam folder.

If you're not inviting 500 peeps, best to send them one by one.

Thanks Guys. Never done an E-invite before and it sounds like I should stick to the traditional methods of email invitation.

j/k.. sounds like good advice from insaintaw. Do it one by one and just paste the contents into each mail.

gmail has an invite feature built in.  It lets them rsvp through the email by clicking "yes" "no" or "maybe" and then they can see who else has replied.  It's built in, so no worries about spam.

Gmail rocks.
