I've found that beer and cigarettes work best for me. It takes some training before you are able to hold the cigarette in your left hand while using the same hand to work the throttle, gets really tricky when there are lots of throttle chops to be done ;)

I've had snacks before. Once in a while I bring my meal to the PC, but not if it's a pasta dish or something potentially messy.

Sometimes eating dinner while flying.   Every now and then I'll be swigging out of a pint of Belvedere Vodka, or a 1/5th of Cragganmore.   If not that, a beer is typically close by.

I smoke like a fiend when I play AH. I actually like the way it burns my eyes when I don't have time to grab the cigarette to set it in an ash tray. I have a baseball hat that I wear that has two beverage holders on top that hold my beer. It has a tube I suck on to administer the precious fluid. :D I keep an ice chest near by so I don't have to go to the fridge. This takes care of the beer issue quite well. I keep a bucket under the desk so I don't have to go to the bathroom every 15 mins. ewwww.  I'm just kidding! :lol  As far as food goes, well, beer is food isn't it? I have always though so. :aok

Don't eat and fly, but quite often a vodka martini is nearby and always a cig burning in the ashtray. Very frustrating to get into a dogfight and be jonesin for nicotine.

Funny thing though, to me, my flying gets better the more I drink....I think.

Beer and cigs!  well until I quit smoking last year.:aok

back in the aw3 days I was in a frball once and noticed i smelled something burning... a little time passes (I was busy) my foot starts hurting... turns out a cig had dropped out of the overfull ashtray and landed on my sock .. which eventually caught fire! (dont remember if I got the kill but my foot did heal up just fine)

good times!

Cold beer in the fridge 5 feet away from computer, cigs, beef jerky, slim jims, cold pizza, bag of chips....not all at once, but something is usually close by.

Well I eat and fly...and sometimes there are mishaps...

Like when I buy a fresh bag of salted, in the shell peanuts.  While Im in the midst of cracking open a shell I'll hear the CHECKSIX calls, by time I've rolled back in front of the PC, Im in the tower.  Whups

And then there are the hazards of leaving a 3 meat pizza AFK next to you while flying.  After a stealth fat cat attack, you turn and discover you have a cheese pizza and a pretty foul smelling litter box  :huh

Usually have a glass of iced tea or Gatorade to replenish valuable energy after getting shot down mercifulessly and for chow it ranges from deer jerky or a bowl of Kix, something light and doesn't leave the fingers messy.

On a tangent, for long climbouts I'll eat dinner if I'm alone and/or play on my GameBoy til I reach the moon. (usually I get into the GBA so much that I forget I'm flying)

God, that looks disgusting

On a AH2 marathon night, I find I go through at least two packs of smokes, although I probably only smoke a half of one.  Those F4U1 wingtanks are a pain in the butt sometimes :D

AH"s advantage over TV is that you really can't eat while doing it in my opinion.    I keep a sport bottle of water tho.

I guess the mouse weilders are a different bunch tho these days.

If you have time to eat then you are doing it wrong.

I've eat just about everything at my desk anyway, heck I don't even have a dining table in my apartment :rofl

really suprised to hear how many smoke and more suprised how many do chew.

i thought i was the only one who has to clean out the fans of my PC every few months from smoke scum :lol while flying AH i smoke like a fiend too, always one burning and it usually ends up burning down :furious

Lazs, what about when you take off? auto takeoff, let it go and you got a good 3-5 minutes before you get to the fight. quick hit to auto level @ 5K between snacks, and you're good to go.

yeah it usually takes 1/2 hour just to eat a bowl of raviolies and they're cold at the end, but it is still eating :aok

Smoking kills the operator too.I just quit in feb. after 15 years of smoking.

the best stop smoking advice there is:The longer you go with out a ciggarette the easier it is.

The money you save is phenominal.

Quitting is all in one's mind.

Just think about this, pick up your ashtray and place your nose all the way in it.This will re-create what you smell like to others around you.

I smoke just to piss off non-smoking nazis :t

nothing irks me more than some self-righteous non-smoker trying to force me into his way of life. they are worse than PETA in my mind.

Howdy all! Not to stray too far from the eating part of this subject… But..

With the addition of the Japanese skin for the C47, and last nights purchase of 3 sets of vintage Japanese Sake cups, bottles, and warmers from an estate auction. The theme for my gaming tonight is set!

I stopped at the state liquor store and purchased a bottle of Sake. I also dug up a compact disc of Japanese military music that I will have playing in the background…

I will see you in the virtual skies!

I nixed that after getting up for a smoke break and snagging it on the chair. I'm recovering quickly, and thankful every minute that it wasn't my catheter. I've since decided that the cooler and bucket, while cumbersome and primitive, are much safer systems.

I remember way back in AW I thought it was pretty neat the way night had been introduced slowly into the game. That is until I hit the monitor with some Windex. :)
Those cig ash dots are hard l`il boogers to catch also. :)
As far as eating and playing the game goes... at one time or the other I have eaten just about everything at the PC. Over a period of years I have learned that you can get all the daily requirements with One A Day vitamins, beer and Jack #7. :)

Just EAT AND FLY??? Amateurs!!! House phone is always under headset on one ear and cell phone on speaker ... :) In addition to smoke in one hand (or munchies depending on how much smoking was involved  :aok ). Then the chair slides and cords are long enuff to reach the fridge to refill my wine glass ... which can be a frequent thing depending on how many times I am shot down. This all in addition to pm's, country talk and 200 smack!!

You all for making me the multi-tasker I am today!!!
