...after a clean reinstall.
Since I have no common sense and can't leave well enough alone, I decided to clean up my HTC folder by doing a clean reinstall. I moved the skins, settings and sound files to the desktop, removed the HTC directory, and reinstalled from the website.
After that, I moved those folders back into the AH2 directory and regenerated cache.
I'd planned to go offline and choose the skins to keep, but I've found that every time I try to take off in any A20 skin the game crashed to desktop with a white screen.
I've used different runway directions, and I've launched a 109E without problems....but I'm posting here before testing others.
Any thoughts about what went wrong, and how to fix it?

OooohKayyyy....
Found the same problem now when upping B-24s, white screen with CTD. A6M2 is fine.
So, I restored the deleted HTC folder and wrote over any duplicated files....only to find the same problem.
The B24 in particular is a bummer because I'm supposed to lead a group of 24s tomorrow night in the Scenario.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Just a guess, but had you installed the high res skin pack before? If so, you need to kill the skins and cache folders for the new install.
-
No, didnt have the high res pack.
I removed the cache with the HTC folder, i thought....but I get the same problem with the fresh install cache and the overwritten one,
-
Just remove the cache and skins folder. Let the cache rebuild, then try it.

Tried that, didnt work.
So I uninstalled again, after removing settings etc folders.
Everything worked with standard AH. Replaced my "special" folders one by one...isolated the gunsight folder as source. Now, it occurs to me that both the A20 and the B24 lack the reflective gunsight.....
Renamed folders, went back to standard sites, all works.
I need to go afk a bit, but I'm wondering if my copy/paste damaged one of the sites or mismatched an alpha bmp and a standard one. It would have to be the default since I hadnt loaded the settings folder yet....
