Hitech can you post the formula you use to calculate ENY restrictions? The current formula doesnt seem to make sence to me and here's why. When there are over 600 people on line, the rooks and bish out number the knights by more than at least 30+ people, and when I check to see what their ENY restictions are, there aren't any and if there is, very little. But when usualy after midnight or 1am EST when most rooks and bish log off, there by reducing the overall people on line to near 300, the knights usualy out number the rooks and bish by less than 20 and we're hit with an ENY restriction of at least 10 or more. It has been my experience that any time any country has 20+ people than any other country, they have a very strong capability to start stream rolling over any country they choose so when the knights are out numbered by 50+, it becomes a darn slaughter which in turn, causes some knights to log off or change sides out of frustration there by increasing the problem. I'm not against the ENY system as long as it is administered in an equitable mannor. I dont think that any country who out numbers another country by 20, 30 ,40,50 or what ever the cut off point is should be allowed to have such a numbers advantage and still be able to fly the low ENY (late model) planes and I certainly don't think the knights should be penalized more than the bish or rooks simply because the overall numbers drop 50%.

The reset of the rooks last night is a perfect example of why ENY do nada work. The numbers were fairly close last night, rooks were at a small disadvantage from both countries. However, both countries were hitting us hehe. Everyone trying their best to halt this warlike invasion of our land still got to fight and defend against LA7s and Chogs. Like I said the numbers were'nt that far off, so I do not believe that a severe ENY factor was imposed.
Maybe you nits or bish can post what ENY got down to, I have no clue.
What I suggest is that along with number margins we could also use fields remaining margins as well.
I did not see the benefit of having ENY helping us out much at all. Instead of a single factor being the ultimate grading curve, maybe two would work more realistically and achieve the balance that ENY was brought to us for.
just my 2 cents

Funny how I never notice ENY unless someone points it out to me. Guess that's what I get for flying the 38G :)

Same here with the ol' F4U-1. Make ENY restrictions as high as the moon for all I care :D

I dont think last night was a problem. This post is something that has been brewing inside of me for a month or so and im just now getting around to writing it. The problem is at its worst on Satuday and Sunday nights when the rooks hold their joint ops. I have seen replies in the past stating it's not our fault you nitwits cant form your own joint ops and simular responses but that doesnt address the falicies in the ENY restriction formulas. And you're right. I should probably post specific case numbers to further illustrate my point. I just have those at this time but I can certainly start keeping notes.

I believe it's a percentage thing, not an actual number online thing that triggers the ENY. IMO the ENY doesn't do anything in slowing a horde down. Nor do i think it does anything to balance sides. Numbers fluxuate all the time.

The current implementation doesnt adress the problem in my opinion either meddog.
I was on the other night, and the numbers looked like this:
Rooks - 170ish
Bish - 160ish
Knights - 120ish
Nethier Rooks nor Bish had ENY that affected their ability to up planes. I think the ENY was under 3.0 for both Bish and Rooks. Sorry i dont have the paper with the exacts written down, I will try to track them down later.

I dont get why ENY kicks in at .01 instead of 5.00...Is .01-4.99 just supposed to scare us???? I dont think any warning is necessary, and if a side inbalancing in present it should kick in at 5.0 and actually limit the uber rides

OK, whoever has that picture of a guy beating a dead horse please

The point of the ENY stuff is not to balance the everyday arena odds. It is to prevent MAJOR imbalances.

Rather than numbers a team has, maybe going by how many of each team are in a zone. That way if there is a hoard at A3 attacking A2, they would be affected, but if there was an even fight at A115 and A116 they wouldnt be affected. That would spread out people better I would think.

We haven't had an "RJO" in WELL over a year.

Med,
Everyone knows that HT hates Nights. You should go Rook or Bish and see for yourself. They get free beer and women every day.

the ENY thingy has angered many for some time now. Its just something that you have to deal with, unfortuantly. I pulled alot of hair out late nights playing when the ENY was so severe that all you could up was a kite..
i fly a 38 all the time now so i wont have to deal with the ENY..
