Title: spying
Post by: Verbal on August 08, 2006, 08:38:55 PM
I know everyone here hates spies in the game, but if this is simulated war, then shouldn't there be an intelligence network? it looks like the subculture of spies seems to naturally have developed with the game itself. just like buff pilots getting their own culture, along with furballers and GV'ers. the game is growing and evolving, and i think we will be seeing alot more spies in the future of this game. and its like in real life....we never see the good ones. What do you people think???

Hub is a spy, but he is most definately NOT part of ANY "intellegence" network.

So.........lets see here.  This is a simulated war, and spying is a normal part of war, so we should either allow or encourage the developement of spys?

Ok.

Dont we execute spys caught during times of war?

Sounds good to me.  I'm all for it.

we really cant kil them whe they are on our side, and we dont know who they are whn they are on their side, 2 accounts, 2 names type of deal. but i don't see why we shouldn't hunt them down and call them out. what cracks me up are the ones who hear about a big mission, switch sides and get some kills with friends, but use the same name.

Instead of 'spies' a better thing for AH is a recconaissance aircraft.

They'd be lightly armed, but have the ability to light up enemy CV locations and enemy aircraft (just like you see within your own radar circle)

Everyone of your side would be able to see that very CV / aircraft on their map.
Perhaps within a radius of 25 miles

I think it's taken way too seriously.  You're supposed to switch sides if one become overpowered, no?  Once you switch sides you're supposed to just fly around aimlessly looking for opponents when you know where one is?

Hub, what we're trying to say is:  "Hub spies so damn good, he isn't aware of the spying portion."

I like the idea. but i think that it should be made as a spotter for GV's and CV's. other planes could be spotted by possibly jeeps, as an added ability to it. that way you could spy from the ground and air. and couldn't just roll out a jeep and see all the GV's when surrounded and being smashed. if yourcapped and under the vulch light and can still get a plane up you should be able to see all the GV's.

I too, would like to state that this is a FREAKING GREAT idea, including having a GV spotter. The GV spotter could be something like the German Storch, for example.

i agree, so what do we think would be 2 possibly 3 good planes to use, and how do we bring this to the attention of the person who will make a decision on it?

We need a dot command to label someone a spy. When someone is labeled a spy, you are able to kill them!

I line up on a spit16, take fire and rip its wing off.
The spit16 is spinning to the ground
Suddenly goldelks starts spraying at my spit16
I receive an assist for my hard work
.spy goldelks
I shoot down goldelks
Balance is restored

thats fine max, spies are a normal part of war. but if the spy is caught HT should give us a way to tourture them to make them talk. or give us a fireing squad option.

For the record, I'm all for unarmed recon planes. Lots of them. But really, who needs recce planes (manpower and time intensive), when you can just PM us?
