I want to try and do a little study through these message boards...No disrespect, but I only want people living in the United States to reply for the polling im looking for....
Please simply reply with what you believe to be your nationality, and then say whether your a republican, democrat or independant....(I know this is vague, but I cannot explain any more as of now because I dont want to spoil what this poll is about until some replys are in...................and serious replys only...Honestly, theres so many other threads you can be a dick in, and I want to really try this with the AH community)
thanks

Thanks for the replys! Unfortunately I have come to the conclusion that this poll has been flawed from the start...
What I was polling for was to see if there was any major indeferences, or if a members alligned to a particular political party were inherintly more likely to respond with "American", opposed to "Italian, German, French ect..."
The first flaw is that all results were there to see for the pollee (???) I dont think anyone that has replied thus far was persueded to say "American" opposed to what they truely felt because I believe all the reply's have said American, but the chance was there for future responders...I Should have asked for PM's...
Secondly, there was no "control" over the poll...I should have found 25, 50....people from the three groups and then interpreted the data...
Oh well, it was worth a shot

My family's mainly from the former Austro-Hungarian Empire. I've long since given up on saying "I'm a ___ American." Czech, Polish, Austrian... You tell me
I have a "Polish" last name, yet that grandfather claimed descent from Russia, further complicating the matter. And who's to say he was wrong? Poland didn't even "exist" when my ancestors came here.
About the only part I can say for sure is I'm part Irish. You can't really screw that up :aok

Part yes......but most of the world finds in annoying that we go around saying.."I'm italian/german/lithuanian"..Most of our families have been here long enough to justify us as our own culture don't you think?...Hell even the "Native Americans" aren't native to here, they just got here before most of us
-
Then if the native Americans were not here first then the Deer and the Antelope are the true Americans?
So American Natives were just Natives?
Wait America wasn't "Officially" called America until the Colonies won the Revolution.
And so then the Colonists became Americans after the British left?
Then the Natives became American Natives?
:huh

I am a NATIVE AMERICAN with zero indian blood
