Title: Truck Question (AGAIN!)
Post by: Hawklore on August 09, 2006, 10:24:10 PM
Well I bought the manual/repair manual for my 1998 Mazda B4000.

Still didn't tell me how to acess the passenger side window washer sprayer.

Dosn't even tell me how to remove the cowling..

WTF?!

It was suppose to be a complete tear down and rebuild!

God, now I've waisted $18.00 until something breaks on my truck.

Have you tried Mazda.com? They might have online service manuals.

Look for something related in that area like a wiper motor. It will tell you somewhere how to remove that panel. Did you get a Hayne's or Chilton's manual?

i don't like hayne's or chilton, they don't cover enough, i found a company thats prints the real factory manuals, Helm inc. , but they are not cheap, i paid $60+$10 shipping.
This is the real factory manual that the dealerships use. It is year and model specific.

It was a Haynes RPM.

But they wouldn't let me open it up to browse it, nor did they have an 'open' copy.

That's pretty common, otherwise everyone would just come in, read what instructions they needed and not buy one. I looked at a couple online manuals and they don't list your truck. I'm sure removing the panel is in there, just hidden under a different repair.

We're talking the "cowl" portion of the Mazda/Ranger correct?   There should be some screws near the firewall.   I mean we're talking a wiper motor here not a "dash removal" to change this.

rpm, I ain't ranting at you, just thinking while typing is all.   Yes, MOST of em are sealed, because of the stated reason, I picked one up for my CJ7 and have already it for a few things.

Have you checked if it is leaking? If you can't see any washer fluid running out, it may simply be stopped up. Try using a small needle or thin piece of wire (like a bread twisty) and poking inside the spray nozzle. Might be a bit of wax or bird poop clogging it up.

have you tried looking at it and then applying logic as to where/how to access said unit?

I'll take pics, and then show yall what I've tried.

Reason I'm wanting acess is to replace the nozzle sprayer that sprayes the windshield with some better working/looking nozzles.

I've allready broken my driver side sprayer, but, thats because it was A: allready not spraying right, and B: coming out once I could get to the passenger side one.

Hawk your truck is screwing you, it's Evil... Burn it on the side of the Highway and buy something that would fit you better... say a Mini Cooper?

Babes still go for the "small" ones.

I'm betting he can't afford a Mini at this stage in his young life.

IIRC, they're over $30K.
