Our pilots should have a STG 44 after they bail out, instead of the .45
(http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/47/Sturmgewehr_44.jpg)
Or a Thompson would also be good.
This would make the pilot much more formidable as a ground troop once he landed. Imagine vulcing an enemy runway with one of these.
LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I am realistic to know that no pilot in a fighter would have room for one of these two weapons, but it would be fun to have once you bail out and are on the ground.
-
Might not be realistic that a pilot would carry one, but he could always pick one up on the ground...
-
It would conceivably be quite easy to simply allow players to select "Infantry" as a hanger option, allowing them to then select from a variety of infantry weapons (carbine, sub-machinegun, sniper rifle, bazooka). Imagine spawning a whole platoon in Kantorri's Fin-Rus terrain, the one with all the trenches at fields. Of course, the assaulting force would have quite a walk to get to their target, even from a "nearby" spawn point (at least until the ability to mount vehicles was added to the game).:D

I'd think the M1A1 Carbine with the folding stock would be a possible "carry on" weapon for a pilot, at least in the roomy US planes. Not the hitting power of a real infantry rifle, but better than a .45.

Just not bail out and have your aircraft's guns shoot the enemy instead, can't beat that :)

so you'd want to have an airsoft gun when you bail???
-
Its the best image I could find on the internet that looked sweet. Yes I notice it was airsoft, but in AH an airsoft bb would kill any one that got in my way.
