Some reason my mouse is not responding when I boot up my computer. It is plugged in, nothing has been spilled on it and I do not know what is causing this. I have even tried to use several other mice (mouses?). I managed to get online using my keyboard, can someone help me out? Kinda hard using a computer when it does not seem to recognize the mouse.
I have tried booting in safe mode and debugging mode, my best luck so far is I have gotten pointer to go up and down on the side of the screen, but did not recognize horizontal movements and eventually it disappeared.

I used to have that problem a few years back.
Mouse would be recodgniced on startup, then lock. Mouse would work normally. PC wouldnt find a mouse at all. In the end it turned out i had a bad system HDD. (Windows downright *refused* to reinstall itself on said disk). You might want to run a ChkDsk.
The other idea id have: Is is PS2 or USB? Have you tried the other type? Maybe its a bad socket.
PS: Using Windows and no mouse is quite possible. You just need to know all the Shortcuts and key combos ;). As i said above... i did that for half a year or so :).

Right now I am using a wireless keyboard and mouse (connects through the USB Port) and works fine. Just a wireless mouse doesn't make good for playing AH.

This has worked for me before...
Plug and un plug your mouse about 10x.. give it the ole 'in & out' action to clean the contacts.

You can get a USB Cable Optical Mouse for about 10,- EUR. Im sure in USD its not much more... id try that. Sounds to me like you have a bad PS2 port.

I had that problem and it drove me mad. When i looked at my keypad mapping I found that the h key was default for my toggle mouse. Now if my mouse locks up I just hit h to free it. Check your mapping and see what your mouse toggkle Mine still to this day may start ok but then for no apparent reason will lock up. Maybe I am hitting h while typing and not being in the radio box but anyway the h key is what frees mine.

james, to solve that problem (if you are using a Joystick that is), go to OPTIONS > CONTROLS > Map Keys and find the "Global Mouse Toggle" - highlight it and then click on CLEAR KEY.

Just taking a flyer here Raptor are the batteries fresh? Have you hit the ir buttons on the mouse and the ir unit?
I'm not a big fan of wireless units. Too many kinks to the point that I banned them at the company I work for.

I said that my regular mouse is not working. I have unplugged it and am using a wireless mouse now that connects to the UDP port. Wireless mouse works fine, regular mouse does not.

ok mate well the only other thing I can think of is its the port... if its a usb port can you plug something else in it ???? also if you have changed to a wireless mouse do you have to reconfigure any drivers????
