Because even a suggestion of sexual act, even graphical, with a child is probably a criminal offence, although there are sites which present "real rape pictures" and they are not criminalized for some reason. :(

Yeah, if the courts admit they were faked, isnt arresting him violating his constitutional rights? Im not supporting it, i just dont see where it violates the law.

I've just had a similar case with porn mangas involving young girls and rape acts. Our law isn't so clear about it.

Those mangas can be as disgusting as the 'real thing' but nobody got hurt in the making and if it allows pedophiles to relieve the tension caused by their urges, it is not so bad after all. But it can also give them ideas and be a temptation, I dunno.

However, the law needs to be adapted IMO because if anime child porn is considered illegal, then a movie depicting a rape or a murder is illegal too.

I lived and worked in Japan for 6 + years.  It used to crack me up when I'd see grown busnismen in their standard issue navy blue suits sitting on the trains and subways reading those "manga" - usually the porn ones.  It seemed like a lot of the time they were sitting next to some "obaachan" (grandma) type lady, who would make it a point to never let her eyes stray to what the perv next to her was "reading".

But when you consider that Japan is a country that has porn vending machines, the fact that they sell porn comic books at teh train stations and book stores doesn't even seem strange. . . .

We already had this debate in the US. If the pics aren't of real minors it's not illegal.

I think you are failing to realize is that the pictures are ADULTS doctored to look like kids.   Sure as hell beats kids in pictures.   Maybe Pete Townshend is "doing more research".  :O

Well, he decided to do this himself, after TRYING to get HELP to make his urges go away. He took it upon himself to take these urges out in a way that wouldnt harm anyone. And are you really in Hawaii?
