I tried to get into it, but I could never go past the constant swearing. I'm sure it's actually fairly accurate for the town and the period, but geez F*** F*** B*** horse F*** S***.:o

Wasn't an ordonance against swearing passed when Deadwood became "American". I'll look it up.

Dirty ****suckers! Ought to send the bunch of them to feed Woo's pigs! Seriously, I think Deadwood is possibly the best show on TV right now. The addition of Gerald McRainey to the cast was brilliant. Best role I've seen him play.
Ian McShane as Al Swearengen is definitly the best character to come along since Tony Soprano.

the wierd thing is, for as foul as al swearengen is, he comes off somehow likable.

the mrs. and i get a kick out of his drawn out felatio speeches.  we laugh our butts off at those.

the show is awsome, too bad.  My oldest brother served in Vietnam with Jim Beaver, who plays Elsworth.  Also did you know that W. Earl Brown (Dan Dority) played Warren in Something about Mary?  What a great cast...:aok
