Does anyone know why micrsoft discontinued their line of PC joysticks???  I think the sidewinder, although very basic and simple, is the best stick I have ever used!!!  One would think that microsoft would continue to produce sticks as they  continue their microsoft flight simulator line, but thats obviously not happeneing...

so what gives?

Is Micrsoft planning on a new stick in the future?

Once they went to internal power supplies on the ffpp sticks they would burn up after 6 months or so.  I have 2 external power supply ffpp2 sticks and they still work great after 7 years. I think they lost  alot of money replacing those sticks and that had something to do with it.....

I think JT has it right.

MS figured out there is more money to be made in the console side than there is in selling pc joysticks.

What I want to know, what was the name of the company that originally built the first Sidewinder before MS bought them out???

Because I'd love to see them build a from scratch, usb, user friendly, modern joystick.

My MS sidewinder stick is getting pretty fouled up. I think I had this one for about 4 years and its starting to lean to the right a little and losing its "springiness"
