I played the original AH on my older pc and thought it time to get back into it. I have a P4 2.8ghz with 512MB RAM. I installed the game no problems and the plane cache loaded fine. I can navigate all the menus including the ones to the arenas. But as soon as i try and play a game even the offline practice it crashes to the desktop.

Post a DxDiag output, or at least what kind of video card you have as well.
-
DXDIAG shows DirectX 9.0c. And i have a retarted intel integrated graphics system. 64MB.
-
Integrated graphics cards won't run the game correctly. You can try unchecking the "Hardware Vertex Proccessing" option in the Video Settings screen. The game will still perform poorly and I believe the graphics will be horrible. I'm not sure about the latter.
-
Tracer, we meant let the dxdiag run and "Save info as text". then post the first third here, since it gives us all the info we need about your hardware....
But integrated graphics 64MB doesnt sound like it can handle AH.
Try running 600X800 res, 128 tex res and preload nothing. If you can get into the game, change all the graphics detail to performance, disable skins and all effects.
But you will probably still get stutters and poor FR.
I seriously recommend you get a graphics card.

Do what Schatzi said and make sure the 'hardware vertext processing' option is not checked. Also be sure to check with Intel (http://www.intel.com) for the latest driver for the graphics chip.

Well as for vertexing those options arnt even clickable. They are locked off. And for the new graphics card side, my mobo doesnt have an AGP slot. Major base model suckage.

Definately set the "Maximum Texture Size" to 128 in the game's "Video Settings". Set the resolution to 800x600.
And go to Intel's WEB site (http://www.intel.com) and get the latest driver for the 82845G video chip (use the search box on thier site).

I'm having that same problem right now, I've been playing for months now maybe a little over a year now, never no problems... But for some reason now when I try to play, I'll open the game, click online arenas and I get a white screen, then it crashes and kicks me out bat to desktop with a report window open, I thought well maybe it's just the online arenas, so I tried offline practice, and the same thing, I tried running a 8 player game same thing... So finally I said the hell with it, deleted AH all together, and re downloaded again, installed it, and gave it a try again, and what do you know, the same white screen, then back to desktop with report window open again.... What's going on?
