Fake.  The sound is the big clue...  It went "kerrrpooooowwww!!!!" instead of "POP!" like a real gun sounds like.  The reverb was "fire a howitzer in a canyon" instead of "fire a .45 in the basement"

think the sound is from a german 88 from WWII.   The recoil the kid felt is from a 500 smith and wesson magnum.

I would say fake.
1. the slide sounds wrong, sounds like plastic.
2. where's the hammer, especially when the kid pulls the slide back
3. just before the "bang" theres a small click, sounds like a toy gun.
4. no muzzle flash

Fake!  The sound when he racks the slide sounds like my son's airsoft guns.  And as already mentioned - the sound.  A real .45 on video sounds nothing like that.  Also - having had the unpleasant experince of being near a handgun that went off indoors, I can tell you that the kid woudn't have been doing the "oops I'm in trouble" thing with  the hand over the moth - he'd have been rolling on the floor holding his ears.

By augmented sound, i mean some schmuck added sound effects... and not that the sounds were simply turned up for those parts...

Recoil and the last click before the "augmented sound" don't match the "recoil" It was also way way too much recoil. Poorly done acting, but nice idea for a funny clip. The acting is worthy of beetle though.
