Title: Firefox crashing?
Post by: Gunslinger on August 16, 2006, 06:51:15 PM: Firefox keeps crashing on me. It's mostly when there's an embeded video or somthing and I can't figure out why. Anyone else ever have to fix this problem?

Post by: FBplmmr on August 16, 2006, 06:57:57 PM: i found that when the download thing is "full" (u have alot of downloads listed)
it wil crash if you try to download a new one.. i dont know what the number of downloads is but hit cntrl +J to bring up the box and remove some stuff. it doesnt delete your download itself just the reference in firefox.

drove me nuts for 2 days till i figured it out

It used to be stable, crashes might be a result of the latest XP update. "At Microsoft, our Job isn't done till Firefox won't run." The latest XP patch has confirmed I.E. problems, so I wouldn't be surprised if they also built in some new Firefox bugs - http://news.zdnet.com/2100-1009_22-6106039.html?tag=nl.e550

Fill it up again and export them. It creates an HTML file. Dump it on your desktop and next time they eat it, just import the file.

You can find it under the File menu in "Manage Bookmarks"

You can change/edit that in the options.

Clear the cache.

Also, no one gave the smartassed comment along the lines of "You gotta think in Russian to keep Firefox from crashing!" I'm disappointed.

Post by: Chairboy on August 17, 2006, 10:33:20 AM: Gunslinger, NoScript? There's a known issue where if you block javascript and view embedded media, it crashes exactly as you described. So, if not NoScript, what about having Javascript turned off? If you do, you might want to experiment with that.

i probably should be laughing,... but i honestly have zero clue what anarchy online is. wow for that matter, other than a bunch of dudes in hobbit suits that creep around @ gen-con and others that put on robes and wizard hats not in a comical bloodninja sence.
