....picked it up today, haven't had a motorcycle in 6 years and I just couldnt take it anymore. Best friend bought a ZX-6 and brought that over a few days ago...he led me to this, a 1999 Kawasaki ZX-9 in mint condition (and great color!).
Searching for a helmet to match and all the other goodies. Insurance is, well, eek! But hey, life is short, go play while you can!

Just play safe, no need to make life shorter than it already is.
BTW - Nice bike, only problem is it's not a Honda ! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

I second the care while riding. And you rice ball's need to get a better ride. A BMW!!! K75RT here. Last in a string of bikes starting with a Honda 350. I rode Kawa's for the city. They are ok but heavy.

Best tip I ever got: "Ride like you're invisable, and everyone is out to get you".

Weave, so true! Driving a bike for sole transportation in my younger years actually helped in my defensive driving of an automobile. 1 accident in my entire life, 1 speeding ticket, insurance companies love me. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
BD5, why not bolt the wings of your BD5 to it? then you can enjoy both sports!

Rice-grinding crotch rockets (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
Ever notice they make you ride bent over?
You wanna ride?
Superglide.
Harley Davidsons are motorcycles. All the rest are wannabe's (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Degas - I considered getting a HD when I was leaving Germany, but opted for a Beemer R100 G/S - nothing like being able to go from street to dirt with same bike.
Counting the dollars until I can get another bike.
Cheers

Hehehe, great retorts/teases guys!
1. I'm driving it like an old lady...I love the looks and I love to lean into my turns...as for doing 160mph and such...no interest. I'm just content strolling along at 55 (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
2. Not a Harley guy. They are pretty, I'll give em that. But I like my bikes to LOOK like they are hi-tech/streamlined and such. Harley's just look old to me. Same design, same chrome, etc etc. Not a dig on your Harley guys, just not my kinda bike. I'll happily wave as I pass you tho! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
3. Couldn't afford the Ducati's and BMW's I saw. Nice machines, but I'll have this thing paid off in no time, then I can determine if I proceed with the BD-5 or backburner that in favor of an RV-7 airplane (which is safer, carries more and many other pro's it has vs the BD-5).
4. Yea, I thought I'd fend off the bike urge this year...even threw away the Dennis Kirk and other accessory catalogs so I wouldnt get tempted. Now I'm on their website checking out helmets and glove prices! What did it for me was when my best friend broke down and bought a ZX-6 he was driving by every day on the way to work. He brought it over and we recalled the fun times we had driving those small trips on the weekends, or the cruises around town when it was summertime. Couldn't resist any longer once I found a bike that looked this good and the owner wanted so little for it. Poor thing has to stay parked since I have to pay sales tax, excise, registration and insurance (totals up fast)...but it won't be long.
5. Rip, wings? LOL...I'll NEVER be able to get the thing into local coffee shop with wings! hehe
6. Hondas? I was looking at CBR600 F4's...NICE machines...but $8k? Ouch. I got this for under $6k (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Friend of mine had one of these monsters. I have not touched a motorcycle since I last rode it.
