Title: AH: Offline
Post by: Saxman on August 18, 2006, 10:00:38 AM
After being thoroughly pissed off and let down by the total piece of garbage that is IL2/Pacific Fighters, I'd had this idea:

What about Aces High as a standalone, offline sim? It could be a pretty natural progression from Combat Tour (which as I understand, is going to have many of the features of an offline boxed sim, anyway). Not only that, but then the team wouldn't have to worry about the restrictions of limited bandwidth and lag, and could do a lot more graphically and with the flight and damage models.

The charm of AH is fighting living, (thinking) people, not AI.

The point is, there are people out there who DO like what can be done with an offline sim that isn't possible for an MMO.

offline would be cool but i agree, the fact that i shooting at someone whos 100s of miles away adds another dimension to the game.

AHII "Meet PPl  From All Over The World And Shoot Them...."

AI is boring and predictable.

Live targets are so much more fun, you never know what a Human will do...
