What a sad year its been for doping. Good thing they are caught tho. Wonder if she will admit it or claim to be innocent until after the B test and a few rounds in the legal system.

its not just us athletes, our Jan Ulrich geht caught just before the
tour de france started. I really dont know what to do, maybe we need
life-time bans on this people who get caught doping, deterence dont
work right now, looks like doping still paying off.
Or we should allow doping, but then it would be only a
championship between pharmaceutical companys...

sad, and this things destroying the sport, nobody will believe in
anything related to this or that sport, and one day nobody will care
anymore at all in this or that sport.

I`m still waiting for the Pro Sleeping competition and the testing for Lunesta. :)
Who gives a rat`s patunia? I mean this is nothing new. Pro sports has a long history all sorts of BS including rigging.

Marion Jones has been suspected of using banned substances for the better part of the last decade.

I'm just surprised it took this long to catch her.

^ Yup.

She might have done herself a rather large favour by not associating with him in the first place. Most of the early suspicion was based on her proximity to him (shot putter, IIRC).

Still, probably better to get caught doping than to die before her time like ... errm ... someone else who didn't dope either.

I don't ordinarily have a problem with adults wrecking their bodies with stuff like this. However, given the effect it has on young athletes, I think all sports should have a zero tolerance policy with a penalty of lifetime banning, as well as exclusion from hall of fame type accolades is in order.

The reason is that in order to make it, we have kids in middle school and high school taking this stuff and wrecking their bodies. Sure, you could say "fine, make them illegal in school sports, with manditory testing and zero tolerance', but that would only drive the youth to less organized and sanctioned sports venues. It's bad enough now that they get it from people who know better than to give it to them and don't care what it does to them.

If they knew in advance they'd be busted permanently, they might be a lot less likely to partake. That stuff does all sorts of bad things to various organs, and leads to other problems. Imagine what it does to the younger players.

I would take it a step further.

Any and all records, winnnings, and so on, would be struck down permanently and the person would be banned for life from participating in competition.
