Title: Avatars Don't Work

Need assistance in helping me figure out why I can not all of a sudden see Avatars. I have it selected in User CP. Worked fine one day and now all of a sudden it doesn't. Any help would be appreciated.
Went to my other PC and Avatars work fine and both have exact settings in User CP. Also if I go to other forums I can view there Avatars

Running IE... I wouldn't know what setting to look for though, why can I see Avatars on other forums? That's what get's me lost. Also 2 days ago it worked fine in here, haven't changed anything that i know of.

What URL are you using for the board?  If you are not using the "www.hitechcreations.com" address, they probably will not work.

Thanks for your reply skuzzy. I use "www.hitechcreation.com" and it goes to "http://www.hitechcreations.com/frindex.html" Takes me to the home page. I then click on forums. The address doesn't change. I also tried my other PC to check the addy and there identical. Any other possibilities?

Oh, and in Firefox theres an option of "dont display graphics"... maybe theres something similar in IE options?

Unfortunately It didn't work either. Even deleted all my cookies and files to see if that would help. I'll go look at my IE settings again and see if I notice something different from my other PC's settings. I can go to other forum sites and see the avatars there. Ofcourse they may be a different type forum or something, I am by no means a PC expert.

Now this is wierd, I changed my avatar to one of the generic ones offered in the options and I CAN See it. Ofcourse that is the only type of Avatar i see. God this is frustrating.

HONDO, question might sound stupid... but as you can gather from Skuzzys post..... its starting to head towards desparation....



Are you not seing *any* avatars at all? Or do you just miss your *own*?

Schatzi, I don't see anyones custom avatar. only ones I can see are the 3 generic ones you can pick from in users CP. All I get are the little red x's

On the links you provided I get a total blank white page on the first one. I see "I Need A Desent Avatar" on the second link. Which is one of the default ones HT provides. Those i can see if someone is using them.

It's like I can not access the site where HT stores the custom Avatars, or how ever that works.

somethings not letting images to load . most likely a browser option setting or some sort of script block .

What did you do /add /change in your pc right befor this happened ???
Fire wall / add blocker/update, ect ect  you musta done something or something done you .

Or your just blind from all the bouncing jugs :D

lmao I was just gonna ask what you did and you have already beat me to posting .

Was reading the main BB board and they started working again .

Also I reformated pc when I put new video card , got some minor stutters online in game , read you fix it post , had forgotten to set the sound slider back to standard .

Worked like a charm , thanks again for the sticky notes , they really do help .

you know for about a hour last week thurday or friday (17th or 18th) i can't remember exactly...

all the avatards showed up as red X's except the "i need a decent avatar" for me too....


then an hour later it was all better.
