Tonight on Comedy Central at 10 PM EST they will be showing the Roast of Will Shatner.
Something to look forward to tonight on tv considering family guy and American dad got killed because of Teen Choice Awards. (I chose not to choose)
-
TiVo is your friend.
-
TiVo is still beyound this family's technology range. We do this rotation of updating things around the house. This year was spent repairing solar heater on pool and overall fixing house. Next year (when Im gone) my parents will most likely update the TV and computer.

Im not a fan of tivo
I much preffer my 160gb verizon HD DVR box :D
much simpler to use easier to hookup, AND I dont have to have the whole seperate box as with a tivo unit to hook up and take up valuable DVD/ peanutbutter and jelly space (dont ask ya really dont wanna know)

I'm game ... does it have the spiffy tivo style tv channel directory? I still have my tivo from 99 which will grandfather into the series 3 once it comes out but the only reason I did not go with another solution is the very good tv button that lets you quickly check and select programs... Know what I'm talking about?
Comcast sucks at this.

deadwood first.

"in a horse"?
-
and then sulu says "f-you and the horse you rode in on."
:huh
man, i miss the old school roasts. (the old rat pack ones.) at least they used a little tact and they were all usually friends.
so far. these guys just arent that funny and thier humor so far has been nothing but bathroom.
it's sort of embarrasing.
but then, i'm not that funny either so there is that...
okay, lisa laminelli is pretty funny...
-
Betty white was good
"We all know Shatners nuts.
But George Taki has actualy tasted them" lmao

Well, at least your batting .500 .
Deadwood rocked!
-
ya it did!
:aok
-
I'd love to have a portrait of that closing shot.
-
it was.
end of season and series next week. can't wait.
or as Al says, "tell your god to ready for blood."
-
I didnt see this roast but Ive seen others in the past couple of years. They try too hard to be crude. "Hey old actress..say the F-word...they love it!" Its forced and fake, and I have no interest in it.

DID YOU THINK THAT THIS no-talent has been WOULD BE ENTERTAINING? I'd rather gouge my eyes out and spray them with Glycol and pop em back into my head and feel the sting. Shatner is a tool, Chuck Norris.

Farrah Fawcett looked like a Crack potato.

Hmmm... I got TiVo along with DirecTv. It's just one box.

The roast had some good moments. Unfortunately it seemsed they had a hard time figuring out that they were supposed to roast Shatner instead of all the no name comics there. The poor choice of language was rather disapointing as well. Instead of using a bit of wit they relied on vugarity to "create" humor.
I would have liked to see better known and funnier comics doingf the roast rather than what they had. The main theme of the entire night seemed to be that Takae is gay. So what, get over it.
Fawcet shoiuld have been left in the half way house they found her in. She was an embarrassment to the entire show. She couldn't even get her monologue done by herself or even tell her best joke in one shot.
-
I would have paid to see someone kick Andy Dick in the nads.
-
Was that the Homo lickin everyone?
No wonder Leonard Nimoy didn't attend.
They should have booked
(http://www.storm.ca/~ddennis/triumph.jpg)
So he would have something to POOP On!
"Farrah has had more bones buried in her than Arlington Cemetary"
"Farrahs last 25 dates started out with the words "Lie down and play dead..""
Mac & Triump

amen, Don Rickles, Foster Brooks, Dean Martin. :aok
There were parts that were funny but I waited to see Fred Willard and Kevin Pollack...and they only had a minute or two between commercials.
-
Betty White was excellent
The rest...were just embarassing to watch.
The same old gay jokes, the un-necessary profanity got tiring....it certainly wasnt worth the hour.
As Shatner said at the end...benig roasted by a bunch of nobodies.
I can see why Nimoy and others bowed out
-
-sigh- .. I too miss the 'rat pack' roasts.
Bob Hope, Dean Martin, George Burns, Joey Bishop..they were all class acts, it was hilarious how they all portrayed Frank Sinatra as basically a male mafia maven, ..the whole gang looked like they were havin FUN ..not hammering the crap outta someone.
I didn't see the Shatner roast .. kinda glad I missed it.
I would bet Shatner wished he had.

He was trying. That Dick will do anything for attention.
-
Agreed. the old "Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts" were the best.
Saw and advertisement to buy them on CD a while back.
Was real tempted
-
Betty White was the high point on a low unfunny road.

Amen! I still laugh til I cry at those reruns. Rickles, even in his doddering years, could shut Shatner's roasters up, 'cept for Betty.

oldschoo playas....REAGAN TOO?! uh huh (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VYys2k1X78)

someone mentioned Kevin Pollack. he is truly funny, and more like the old school funny. Richard Jeni was good in that sence too. could make a joke PG-13 and still be hilarious.
