Title: Saitek X52 owners...
Post by: Max on August 20, 2006, 06:53:04 PM
Am I nuts?

Sometimes my X52 responds very smoothly; other times it seems to over-react with some nose bounce. I swear, if I switch from MS Flight Simulator to AH the stick feels loose. Anyone else have this problem?

As for scaling the pitch, yaw and rudder axes...what do you find works best for you?

Anyone use the deadband tweak in XP Joystick CP?

Thanks :aok

I had LOTS of bounce problems until I tweaked the scaling.

I get smooth response with all the sliders at the top, for every axis. Got a significant improvement in hit % from that alone.... although managing the plane well can have impact on bounce, especially at low speed.

Did you make any adjustments to deadband or damping?

thanks,

I put in a little deadband, not much -- maybe 5% up the slider. . Didnt have any spiking at all, so that wasnt the issue...just didnt want the thing responding when I shifted my hand position. Damping shouldnt be an issue unless the stick itself is having trouble, and is spiking because of a bad potentiometer.

If that's the problem, should see the numbers jump all over when you go to the map controllers section, highlight the axis, and click the advanced box. With the newest patch, you can see both the raw data (a green line on the bar chart showing what's coming from the controller) and the scaled data (what the result of your sliders comes out to).
