Is there a way to make the joystick settings stay set in AH even if a joystick is unplugged then plugged back in?
I have recently installed water clooing in my PC & had to unplug my CH stick; when I plugged it back in I just assumed the settings would still be there, but nay, they are not. I had problems with my pro-peds & the same thing happened but I didn't put 2 & 2 together before now.

I honestly don't know about the USB, but I have an analog that I unplug and plug back in. After I take it out and put it back in, I must recalibrate it in Windows, but AH retains all stick mapping/scaling.
Like I said I don't know if it holds true for USB. If you put the plugs in the same ports it might just work, right?
Give it a shot and see.

IIRC there was something in the pro pedals manual about always sticking the plug in the same USB port or you'd have to configure it again... are you using the same USB ports as before for each device?
I unplug my stuff all the time, and it always works again (I plug the stuff into the same USB port as before though).

If you have the pedals it might be that the ports are numbered and that the rudder axis of "port 1" might be swapped with the pedal axis of "port 2" -- meaning your twisty stick starts working again and your pedals go inert, or something like that.

i just did that excact same thing Brenjen: installed water cooling. When i plugged my CH gear back up they recognized and I had not lost any settings.

Yeah, it's just the CH stuff that gets lost....the saitek throttle settings stay put.

Are you SURE you plugged the hardware into the same USB port as before? I've seen very similar things happen with other USB hardware.
I am to the point of writing down what USB devices I plug into what port complete with a little diagram...

It happens regardless of what USB port they're plugged into. The Saitek program stays & the two CH's don't.
( I seriously doubt the game records which port they were in anyway )
-
Don't thinkthe game does but pretty sure windows does. Windows tells AH where the gear is. If I unplug I'm OK as long as I plug em back exactly the way I had em.
-
Well not here. As I said before, the Saitek stays programmed in AH even after being unplugged, but not the CH products. I just thought someone who knew (skuzzy?) might be able to shed some light on how to get them to stay programmed like the Saitek throttle does, but I guess your all as stumped as me.
EDIT: BTW, any other USB item I have ever plugged into a PC, this one or any other; as long as you plugged it in before windows loads it doesn't matter where you plug it in as long as the drivers & software for it are loaded already. And yes; I unplugged the stick & plugged it back in to check....like I already said - it don't matter.;)

On an unrelated note, the water cooling allowed me to hit 3ghz on my Athlon64 4000+
