Are Photon Torpedoes equipped with atomics?

this is a great idea... imagine

each country accumilates technology points for each base they capture, say 50 points per base.  If they lose a base they lose the points.  Once the country has 1000 points the HQ spawns a Tech building ala Command & Conquer.  Once the building spawns it takes maybe two hours to create the atomic bomb and makes it available.  During this period the Tech building can be destroyed and the building process starts over, if the country has lost enough bases to have less than 1000 points then they have to start over.   Once it's created the atomic bomb will only be available from the nearest base to the HQ similar to the 163 and only in a special B-29 that can only be flown by the highest ranked bomber pilot.  If during flight a higher ranked bomber pilot logs in he can bump that pilot ala CV control.  The B-29 shall be painted bright orange and will be represented by a flashing red light on the map

rooks would have the points in a matter of minutes but we would have to use it as quickly as possible because we tend to let our bases go after that:D ,but we need NO nukes in the game none, 0, zilch

LOL. This A-bomb topic is getting fun. Yes, I like that idea of the highest rank bomber thing and all, I just dont want bright orange because its UGLY!!! A standard B29 skin is enough, therel be so many enemy fighters on the formation, all the bombers will get shot down anyway!

Photon torpedoes are meant to reduce shield strength. Its the phasers that run off warp engines that do the real damage. Yes..Im a geek.

That'd actually be somewhat interesting.

I believe the B-29 would be faster than at least half of the fighters in a flat out run without factoring having to climb after it. Not to mention the bomber volume of fire and that most any attack would be a tail chase because of the speed of the B-29.

So, no, all the bombers wouldn't get shot down.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B-29_Superfortress#Specifications_.28B-29.29

Stall speed: 105 mph (91 knots, 170 km/h)
Combat radius: 3,250 mi (2,820 nm, 5,230 km)
Ferry range: 5,600 mi (4,900 nm, 9,000 km)
Service ceiling: 33,600 ft (10,200 m)
Rate of climb: 900 ft/min (4.5 m/s)
Wing loading: 69.12 lb/ft² (337 kg/m²)
Power/mass: 0.073 hp/lb (121 W/kg)

I guess it depends who you ask.

http://www.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/URG/b29superfortress.html
Performance:
  Max. Speed: 357 mph (575 km/h)
  Cruising Speed: 290 mph (467 km/h)
  Climb to 25,000 ft. (7620m): 43 minutes
  Service Ceiling: 36,000 ft. (10,973 m)
  Range (With 10,000 lb. bombload):
      3,250 miles (5230 km)

they show a cruising speed of 290 vs 220 from above.  I would say there are a few planes in AH that could catch a b-29,  262, Tempest, TA-152, 109K4, 190D9, P-47N, etc

are they quick getting up to speed or does it take a long time to get there.

also, would a full load out alter these stats?

We would finally be able to use air-to-airs in the G-14

Was just reading about them, seems they took a while to get up to speed, was one of the primary reasons for overheating on the P&W engines, why they were so unreliable.  Braking starts were not an option, especially when loaded.
