Allies had 30 more pilots at launch again, not complainin the frame went well but this seems to be a trend. I know it's been mentioned before but does anybody know the reason?
-
It's definatley an issue that the CMs are trying to address. But its also something that the Squad CO's need to address as well.
-
Frame 1 – 134 Allied VS 96 Axis
Frame 2 – 137 Allied VS 106 Axis
I don’t know what the problem is, but if we have some no show squads I hope they are getting the boot. We don’t need on and off squads that just make things more difficult for the Admin CM’s and the players who get stuck on a side that is outnumbered again and again.
If the Axis squads are just low in numbers and the Allied high that happens, not any fun, but it happens. At the same time if squads are more than 2 below they need to be warned. If they ignore your warnings give em the boot.
I think all those that enjoy Squad Ops can agree it would be better to have 200 solid, active, on the ball players then 250 players that are luke warm about the event.

Seems like some people just dont like flying Axis for some reason.
I think the only way you could address the issue is on the spot CM adjustments to the given senario. For example in the given senario the CM could give the Ju88s and second run in fresh bombers or in a fighter, or allow addition restricted aircraft like the 202s to be used. something creative would have to be employeed to give it some ballance.
Maybe load the axis side with 20% more poeple in squad man power at the start of the senario. But then if people start showing up it screws the allied players.
we cant ground poelpe that show up to fly, and if we boot a squad they could reform under a differant name which would just put more work on the CMs trying to keep a watchful eye and probably create some animosity in the process. The whole point is to have fun right. So I think a creative means would be the best solution.

I tend to go the route of it lies in the hands of the squad CO's. The assignments at the beginnning of each scenerio is based on wishes and what each squad numbers they commit to. I know that there will be some fluctuation due to the numbers window, but it is still within the CO's domain if their squad can't put up their numbers that they committed to.
Take a look at past FSO assignments. If it seems to be only the axis numbers low, then is it the same squads not fulfilling their numbers when axis? Strange that the squads rotate ally or axis but only the axis numbers come in low.

After 5 plus years of watching numbers as a rule of thumb squads have a lower turn out if they are Axis. Most squads and players want to fly Allied.
I usually give the Axis side an extra squad or two. Basicly about 10 to 20 more pilots. Most of the time this works, but a couple years ago it bit me in the rear and all the Axis squads had a high turn out and all the Allied squads had a low turn out. :huh It happens.

If it would help, the 327th Steel Talons can fly Axis for a while.
The Axis have some good Iron too.
It would help if all CO's could get a look at a preliminary "Country" roster before selecting/requesting a side for their squadron.
Perhaps publish a "AS requested roster" first, for all to see, then a "Final Roster" second, as balanced.
However, I think you are essentially doing this now when you "move" squadrons to the other side. Achieving the same thing.
Damn, it is a sticky wicket, isn't it.
Cuz it's the NO-Shows that screw it up.
Perhaps all the CO/XO's should check the MA about 20 minutes before start and drag their members over to the SEA. This works for us. Launched 11 out of a max commitment of 12 last friday. Would have been only six, otherwise.
