For long you live and high you fly
and smiles you give and tears you'll cry
and all you touch and all you see
is all your life will ever be

I saw the first Roger Waters tour here at Maple Leaf Gardens - The Radio Kaos Tour.

I haven't got tickets for his concert next month

I agree rpm

Of all the concerts I have seen Floyd ranks number 1.

It was the summer of '75, on a day where the temperature remained at a constant 95 degrees. There wasn't even a small breeze to cool off things. Fortunately, it wasn't humid.
The crownd numbered about 100,000 people from Ontario, Mass,NY,Mi,Il. The police were instructed to allow anything execpt glass bottles and fighting. I didn't see any incidents the entire day and we got there around 12:00 noon for that evenings show.
We ended up sitting right in front of the mixing tower, centered in front of the stage. Wish You Were Here had not yet been released so we didn't have a clue what it was going to be like. The band came out at around 7:30ish (waters and gilmore wearing jeans and red t-shirts) and started to play.
At the end of the set they retired for a break. It was about that time the sun set. When it was fully dark, without anyone expecting it...we heard a loud deep heart-beat from the right side of the stadium. About 30 seconds later we heard a second heart beat from the left. Then 30 seconds after that from the front and then later from the rear. This heart beat over a period of about 5 minutes got quicker and quicker over the quad sound set up that spanned the entire size of this football stadium. Then a huge 'eye' was projected onto the circular screen behind the band; blinking and looking around the audience. Still no other lights. Then they finally broke into the beginning of DSOM.
You should have seen the cloud of marijuana smoke hanging over the crowd:O I have never seen anything like it! I can remember a point when I was handed 3 joints from others all at the same time and I already had one! LOL
They finished the DSOM set and came back after about a 15 minute break to finish off the concert with Echoes.
A truly phenomenal performance.

Dark Side isnt even Pink Floyds best album........IMO, "Animals" is the peak of Pink Floyd as musical pioneers, and one of the best rock albums ever made. Dark Side might have made em' famous and raked in the bucks......but musically "Animals" is much stronger. Heck, include "Wish You Were Here" on the musically stronger list too. Don't get me wrong I love "Dark Side" but it and "The Wall" get more acclaim due to the fact that the songs are "radio friendly" , allowing the masses to here them.

Dark Side of the Moon's "themes" are more present NOW then they were 33 years ago.  Not to mention 781 consecutive weeks in the Top 200.   Or this little nugget:  On the week of May 5, 2006, Dark Side of the Moon achieved a combined total of 1500 weeks on the Billboard 200 and Pop Catalog charts.

The cover says it all.

Masherbrum, your avatar: why no Piper at the gates of dawn and Obscured by clouds?... And Final Cut? I understand why you didn't include later Gilmore's pop production...

I saw that the albums I mentioned aren't on your avatar...

Obscured by Clouds is probably their most underestimated album. One of my favourites too.

Oh, forgot More, it isn't on your avatar also :(
