Hey all ukers thought i would give you a heads up for tonight. There is a documentry about what happened to Douglas Bader on the August 9 1941. I've read an article by the same historian Andy Saunders a couple of years ago. It's very interesting and comes to a conclusion different to the collision that Bader thought it was.

Will be watching that one

Cheers, would have missed this without the post. Quote so far - 'Not many artificial legs would have dropped from the sky in northern France'.

For us not in the U.K., what conclusion did it come to?
Thanks
Frodo

In the end it is believed that Bader was shotdown by 'Buck' Casson in a friendly fire incident. Casson was a member of 616 squadron, the same as Bader.
The article I first read about the incident is from "After the battle" Issue 125.
