2 questions

#1 - Is that thing for real?

#2 - Does it go faster then 5 mph?

Yes it is for Real!!!

Its a Vespa GTS250, does 95 at a push, but will sit on the Motorways happily at 75 - 80 (MPH)

Why would you tow a Harley? I prefer to ride mine. I guess if the event were several hundred miles away towing it on a trailer might cross my mind.

Of course this may very well have just been a dig...:)

LOL I was one of them...Here is mine, a Lambretta GP 125 (With a stage 4 tuned 175 engine) sits at 60 on the Motorways...Love it, but will be doing it up over the winter with a new spray job, chrome and some other bits and bobs :)

You can "stage 4" mod a scooter and it still only does 60?  :)

Considering a Lambretta has Legshields (Excellent for areodynamics ;)), and 30+ years old, as a 175 will only cruise at about 45-50 a 125 will only do 40-45.

So a stage 4 adds between 15-20 mph, a stage 5 or 6 will only add another 10-15 mph, but is extremely tempremental.

If you want to go any higher than that you need to put a 225 TS1 engine in. Ported to the max, transfer ports matched, a reed valve 34mm D'ellorto Carb with a 42mm Exhaust, this will sit at 90mph on the Motorway all day.

The new Vespa (See the Betty Boop Scooter above) if Stage 4'd will do over 100mph!!!!! Stupidly quick for a vehicle that has only 12" wheels :D

If it wasnt for investment but only to ride I would take your ride over a harley or other big bike any day.

That scooter has oodles of charm and style :)

LOL Good On Ya Nilsen

I've ridden a few big bikes, while I love the Power and sheer brute force, but they are all 2 a penny (Except the Hog, lovely ride).  I still love the Lambretta (For class and style) and the Vespa (For reliability and speed).

Mine cost me £1500 ($2400) in the state I bought it. 125 Engine, standard pipe and carb. I have spent nearly £500 on getting the engine right. New 175 Kit, 30mm Carb and a big bore Scorpion expansion chamber (Exhaust), but to see people looking at my Scoot is the ultimate :)

SteffK,

My first powered two wheeled experience was on a Lambretta. I was about 13 or 14. It was in Brasil and for the avaible roads and streets it was the ideal two wheeler.  I always wanted one back then.
