Post by: Reynolds on August 28, 2006, 04:27:56 PM: B-17: Looks pretty, hits hard, takes what no other plane can, and still lands. (And if dispute this, lets talk. I have some pictures I still cannot beleive)

Bf-109E: Great plane to learn on. Forces you to really know your aircraft and your enemy's. And when you get the shot, TWO 20mms give you some great hitting power, they even have some classic "Yellow-Nose-Bastarrd" skins.

Bf-109K4: two words: Spud Gun

Me-262: The sparrow (thats a gay name, isnt it?) is COOL!!! It looks nice, and it has some classic implimentations, as well as showing the extreme advantages the germans had in engineering, as well as having played a great role in the "Great Patriotic War" In that there was an entire squadron of German 262s flown by RUSSIAN pilots, who wanted to assist the germans to overthrow stalin.

Me-163: I call it the rectal rocket, cause thats a big-arse thrust output right behind you, although in real life they had an annoying tendency to... explode.

Lancaster III: The only thing I like about the lancaster is that it looks real fun to belly-land. Every time I fly one, I have to un-plug my stick to stop me from belly landing!!! (Its a wierd obessive compulsive habbit, and I am not exadgerating. I really have trouble, a tightness in my chest when I fly a lancaster, because my arms are fighting me to belly land it!)

Hurricane Mk?: I have yet to decide whether the Mk I or IIc is better. I dont have any facts, I just enjoy them.

Ar-234: Its pimpin.

C-47: hey, it was good enough for Easy Company!

Tiger: Its big. Its cool. Its German.

La-5: It looks cool, its fast, and im good with it for some strange reason.

P-40e: Asthetics. I dont know why, but I am drawn to it.

That good for you?

Post by: TracerX on August 28, 2006, 06:03:19 PM: Are you kidding? F4U-4 and Tempest are hands down the best planes. The 262 is nearly untouchable, but has trouble dominating like the F4U-4 and Tempest do.

Unperked planes of course are Spit16, La-7, P-51, N1K-2, Ki-84, Spit9/8. After this, it is hard to differentiate since the remaining planes all have weaknesses that are fairly easy to exploit, or harder to overcome. The ones listed above are not invincible, but definately have a leg or two up on the rest of the crowd.

It was mostly a psycological role. Being shot at by your own country-men tends to do that. Im not saying it killed hundreds, and turned the tides. There were only a few Russians doing this, but they were all (To my knowledge) equiped with 262s on the Russian front. It was mostly a propoganda tool for hitler, else he would have given them crappy second-hand planes.

No way you got it all wrong. That 262 is from JG69 Sturmfry. A group of hetrosexual pilots who wanted to revolt against the Mayor of San Fransico.:D

Fine if it could at least give me some high speed agility like 51 i wouldnt mind the climb rate but dam, 3 g's and now u have to try to land on one and a half wings. ONly thing its good for is attackin a set of sleepy bombers.

That was the sole Me 262 the "Russkaja Oswoboditel'naja Armija" (ROA) had. The ROA was established in November 44. Its "airforce" consisted of

ROA-Schlachtstaffel 8 with 12 Ju 88
ROA Jagstaffel 5 with 16 Bf109G-10
ROA Transportstaffel 4 with 2 Ju52/3m
ROA Aufklärungsstaffel 3 with 2 Fi156 and 1 (!) Me 262
ROA Ergänzungsstaffel with several training planes

The Schlachstaffel & Jagdstaffel were ready for combat at early April 45 and were flying sorties on the eastern front. On 27th of April 45 they surrendered to american forces.

I don´t know if the ROA 262 flew any sorties at all, but for sure it was no "squadron of 262s" nor did it play a "great role" in this war (And neither did the ROA)

Post by: taylortanklover on August 30, 2006, 08:33:12 AM: okay this is a litter out from left field but, when i was watching gun cameras on the military channel they showed rare fotage of a P-38 surprisingly catch up and shoot down an enemy Me-262! it is real fotage that is one of a kind! so i guess i say the P-38! but i also like the yaks cause they r small and fast and not an easy target if u try to catch up to it!
The P-51D is also good causse it is fast!
Honostly i like all of the vehicles so i will not say all of them (mainly tanks!)!
u can tell i mainly like the tanks just by my name!
but i like the 109 older versions just cause i am use to flying that one!
i do not realy like spits for some reason, no reason i just don't!
Last i like the B-24 just because the better control for me (no idea why!)!!

Post by: taylortanklover on August 30, 2006, 11:20:49 AM: the ju-87 stuka dive bomber is my favorite dive-bomber it is hard to take- off though! i love the B24 just cause it is weird and has good fire power the weird part i can relate to myself! My favorite fighter i would have to say itis a tie between the 109 and P38s! My favorite attack plane i say is the P38s! My favorite vehicle is the sherman witch is not on here so i like the jeep, m3 halftrack, m16 aahalftrack, ostwind, and in first place the tanks, witch r the T-34, Tiger I, Panzer 4 ausf H, and the M9! the M9 is more of an infantry support 4 wheel drive tank thing its weak gun just bounces off all of the tanks the only one i have tried is the panzer 4 ausf H at point blank range at its rear does not do any thing!

Um, have you ever SHOT at a yak?!? At least 5 or six times, I have snuck up behind yaks with a 109K, and fired my last 30mm into them, and watched them fall from the sky behind me. They arent that hard to hit.

And I enjoy the stuka as well, but it cannot shoot down ANYTHING! Ask nonsense. He dared me to try to shoot down his La-7. He flew straight and level, and even lined up the shot for me. I ran out of ammo, after hundreds of hits, and hadnt taken any damage. So he ran into me. (Or I ran into him, the details are a little fuzzy ;) )

Which 109 do you like? I favor the Emil myself.

I did. From D200 I EMPTIED my ammo into him, all hits, and he was still green. But I love it as a bomber!

In any case the 262 is a plane that would cause "pant-wetting fear" in its enemies no matter what it was called.

It would be quite easy to dodge most comments concerning your spelling of german words if you would use an online dictionary. For example this one. (http://dict.leo.org/ende?lang=en&lp=ende&search=)

(I do use it a lot when unsure about spelling of eenglisch worts. Sadly, it does not improve my grammar very much :rolleyes: )

At least 5 or six times, I have snuck up behind german rides and dissasembled them with the YAK-9T's 37mm tater gun... Ha mine's bigger than yours and the 37mm also has a much better range than the german 30mm.

So my vote is for Yak's, F4U-4/D, KI-61 <----My personal fave, A6M 2 and 5 and also the FM-2 is just a killer and the P40's are sexy.

I had a guy from germany staying with us for a while, and had him teach me, but he had to leave before we could get very far. And as to getting easy books, I would need to have them imported. Only 6 languages out here:

Chinese
Korean
Filipino
Hawaiian
and Pidgen
