If you are using on board sound instead of sound card, it can be problematic. I had same problem, I used onboard sound for several months with minimal or no problems. Then one day it decided it wouldnt do anymore. Istalled $25 sound card and everything was fine.

Your onboard sound card is probably only a half duplex soundcard, meaning that when using direct sound (directx), it won't let u transmit and play sounds at sametime. U need a soundcard that is a full duplex, ex. Soundblaster live! 5.1's are good cards and pretty cheap now, like 25-50 bucks depending where u get it from.

Skuzzy "R the GEEK" I agree with him, on board sound isn't made for gaming, most computers are NOT made for gameing. Buy yourself a cheap full duplex card and pop it in and you'll be ok.

I'll add to the vote. I use a Soundblaster Live! 5.1 and I have NEVER lost vox. Even when half the arena seems to lose vox, even when the board is filled with complaints, I have NEVER EVER lost vox. Sometimes I wish I would just so I dont have to listen to it. :)

JJ also check and beshure you have a Ping number going into AH server if its blank (packet loss) then you may need to reset your routor/modem .

Before u install the new soundcard, makesure u disable the onboard sound via the Bios and uninstall it in windows.

I had similar problems and traced it to Update for Windows XP (KB920872). I would be fine till take off then lose sound. I uninstalled it and sound is working again.
