Check out the M16 for sale on Ebay. Nice picks. Sorry I didn't see it sooner, there is only 6 hours left on the auction.
If the link doesn't work look under military vehicles category.

Oh, the fun that could be had with a halftrack... :t :O
-
That track is missing a very important part of an M-16...namely the
quad fifty mount. Wait..I see that neither the quad mount nor the single
50 is included. $15K sounds pricey for a neutered halftrack.
-
says in the description "MG and quad-mount not included"
-
Has a Quad 50 mount for it too. WOuldn't mind driving it cross country up to the bay area. Wonder how many CHP guys would move aside seeing that ****er doing 60 on the highway.
-
.50 Cal missing? That takes away the fun of it!
-
That thing is a POS. 15k is extremely pricey. A quad mount is gonna run atleast 20 - 30 k if you can even find one. The rest of the vehicle looks like ****, especially considering it's a "complete restoration" in 88. Parked in 03 under a cover? It's in hot and humid NC, so it's likely a rust bucket now, and I would be surprised if the engine turns over. Not too much work to hook a battery up to turn it over, thats why it is being sold as is, where is because the seller knows it won't run!
FYI, for poos and giggles, we restored an M3A1 Scout Car, and are finishing the restoration of a M2A1 Halftrack. Ground up restorations, as in stripped to the frame, are worth 100k +.

i saw a pt boat or 2 for sale on ebay before, but that was a year ago.
-
Went for $17100. Link is still good for viewing.

Imagine how the staff at "the masters touch" would respond if HT or Pyro rolled upto work in that LOL

Don't see what the big deal is with restoring them. Israel still makes them, same chassie and all - even the treads.
-
Wolf, Its a bit like my mates Triumph
Its an original 1978 (1976?) T140 bonneville that he has restored to showroom condition... Now he could sell it and get enough to buy a brand new T140 bonneville (re-released by triumph a few years ago) with change left over, But He Never would....

The weathered the paint job and everything!:aok

Israel makes the tracks. Last run was in 2001 or 2002. They bascially use existing frames, and modify them.
As for the big deal in restorations, well, put it this way. Whats the big deal with restoring a P-51 or FW-190??? Both are now obsolete.
Simple answer, they are history and should be shown.
