CBS is replacing special effects and remastering Star Trek, the original series and will be broadcasting them.

New space scenes, replacing backgrounds to have moving people, etc. Should be interesting.
I just hope it's not like Star Wars. Thundering herds of tribbles on the horizon....

Good gawd...
Rather than tinker with the old stuff, why not come up with something new?
-
I'm surprised they haven't done this already...
-
Guess they can't do much with the hokey story lines. I loved 'em as kid but not so much now.

All of those are old too. Right now, they've got nothing.

next star trek series should be excalibler with capt mac calhoon

Glad to see Micheal and Denise Okuda doing the work. They worked with Roddenberry, so they have a good feel for what the show was about.
They are also very good at what they do. One, or both, of the pair has worked on every ST version since The First Generation.
-
Yep. Okuda is generally responsible for the look of the ships and technology from TNG forward. The computer interfaces are called "okukagrams" by the production crew because he created the look.
Smart guys, their best trait is that they are not Brandon Braga or Rick Berman.
-
While I normally dislike the idea of monkeying with the original format and scenes of older series, I'd be intrigued to see what they could do with some of the better Star Trek episodes, such as "Balance of Terror."
-
its gonna look stupid. the new animations wont match the origional film quality. im not gonna watch it.
PS
Pickard > Kirk
-
I hope they go easy with the ring-shaped explosions and the faux-shaky virtual camera work.
-
Arrrrghh! Damn space donuts, I blame ST VI.
-
People have just run out of ideas

I'd like to see the guys that did BSG re-imagine Star Trek TOS.
