don't those planes have swiveling main gear for that type of landing?
as a student pilot i did cross wind landings in a Cessna 150, final is not too bad but you have to get lined up when you flair for the touchdown, it can get -ah- very interesting.

B-747 has swiveling main gears up to 45 degrees. I don't know how other types has it.
