Title: Kitty
Post by: Reynolds on September 05, 2006, 05:38:45 AM
Okay, I have just saved up enough GV points for a tiger (I dont use GVs much, so it took a while) I have only ever used one before, and I made the mistake of taking it to tank town. Killed two panzers, then got owned. So now before I waste another of my favorite kitties, what is a SAFE situation to use a tiger in? I want to be able to kill stuff, I just also want a situation where a mediocre-at-best GV driver can land a very expensive deathtrap.

generally speaking you want to maximize the tigers strenghts which is it's armor and gun... open spaces and engage at longer ranges.  You don't want to be in a tight environment where you can get flanked, panzers can get easy killing shot.... also the slow turret traverse will hinder you in close fighting.

dont spawn into a tank town area.. if it is close drive you way there and then snipe your targets carefully... and dont sit in one place too long because they will catch on to you and attempt to flank you.

Yep. TT is the place to earn your GV perks, not to spend them ;)

Yeah, I knew I was dead when I heard the engine behind me... (I also made the mistake of LEADING an attack, so when the two guys closest to me got killed, my backside was WIDE open)

Use the Tiger for base defense aginst enemy GV's and if your not great in GV's stick close to the field, that way your always close to a spot to tower out.

As a rule of thumb I never leave concrete, so when I know im damaged, I fire one last shot, and just as he fires his, before it hits, im an arse and I .ef to safety. :t

I love tigers a lot, I will take them into TT occasionally because I have the perks to waste, but my favorite use for them is Vbase defense.  I like to use them to fight outnumbered, so if I find a base with multiple enemys rolling in I throw out a couple loads of supplies around the base then roll out and stay close if not on the pavement.  After every hit I take (note: Hits, not bounce offs, you can tell the difference in sounds) I use a load of supplies whether damaged or not.  By this method you are pretty much unkillable unless you really get overrun by enemies or divebombed by lancs :)
