Title: Electric razors
Post by: Animal on February 21, 2001, 07:30:00 PM
I used to be a Mach 3 kind of guy for a long time but I recently switched to a Norelco electric razor and its easier on my face, and I can shave while I watch TV.

How many of you also evolved to the electric razor?

I used to use the Mach3, I liked it alot, for no real reason I switched to the Schick Tracer FX,  Every electric I have tried seemed to pull the hair more so than cut it, but i havent tried the norelco.

....shave wile watching the TV...I WILL try the Norelco.

I use Mach 3 on important days when a real close shave is needed.

I keep a Norelco (3 floating lift and cut heads) in the Truck so I can shave on the way to work  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Mach 3 guy ALL the way.  Electrics make me face feel like I sawed the beard off with a chainsaw...all 5 or 6 I've tried.  And what the heck kinda topic is this anyway? LOL  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Electrics suck.  Best one I used was a Braun.  I have a beard now.   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

I like to make sure & shave at least once every week or so...that being the case, the scruff comes off much nicer with the Mach 3 than anything else I've tried.  I'd recommend it to any other unemployed SlOBs out there too!   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

I hate electric razors - never seem to do a good job. All the ones I've tried anyway.

But I think the hair on my legs is a little too tough for them.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

The best one I've ever had was a Braun also but the blades go dull after a month and the replacements were $24 so I stopped using it.

I quit shaving 25yrs ago...currently, my beard is 11' 4''. I part it down the middle and secure each half to each leg with 12 very large rubber bands...chicks dig it!

You hairy monkeys.

Anyone who needs to shave more than twice weekly has been outevolved by me.

Feel the pain. That's life dudes; to beings like me, you're merely hairy hairy dumb monkeys.

You can shave a sheep as much as you wwill, but that won't make it a human.

Dowding - Like anybody from the US believes anybody from Europe actually shaves their legs.

Raubvogel - Its amazing what us "girlymen" will do to get laid and only a girl will do.

StSanta - Once puberty hits, you'll have to shave more... or deal with the shag look.

I've been shaving with my Norelco for about 4 years now.  Its just too easy.  It does require weekly cleenings to keep everything in optimal working order, and daily stubble dumping too.  I find this much easier than having to deal with shaving cream.

I'd much rather let my beard grow out... but I don't grow much between the chin and lower lip and end up looking like someone out of the movie "Deliverance" if I don't shave (see comment above about actually wanting to get laid... by a girl).

No real issue against razors.. its just that my electric is faster and easier.

Yeah I guess it depends on the face.
Got friends that find the electric a pain. Real easy for me, it takes a little longer, but I can do it while watching TV or playing Aces High, and no cream neeeded. I got the idea for the topic while reading the board with the shaver in my face.
I use a Norelco 5810XL, bought it for $50 (New of course) on eBay and is working like a charm.

I shave two times a week.

Im tempted to try this new product on TV... kind of like the hair-killing cream women use on their legs, but this one is for beards.

Imagine that, no shaving for 2 weeks at least! Oh what a dream!!!

Gotta test it on the neighbor's chihuahua first...

That stuff from Aussie land called "nads" is supposed to be real good, even on faces and not supposed to irritate yer skin like dipilitories,  of course the drawback is when someone asks you if you shaved you have to say "naa i just put some nads on my face"

      (http://www.homeandbody.philips.com/images/maingroup/shaving/MGMain.gif)       (http://www.philishave.com/#)

If you like electric shaving devices and want the absolute best, you should consider this one. Philips is for Razor machines what Rolex is for Watches.
I like to shave with a Gillette though, I havent got a an electric razor anymore, as I dont think it gives the same clean feeling as a blade does.
I noticed on the Philps site that its possible to buy electric razors that work in the bath and while taking a shower. That makes the electric razor interesting for me again, so I might reconsider it.
