Nissan Skyline GTR (R-32, 33, and 34) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6R9z6fvyJ4)
THE best 90s sports car that no one knew... unless you played Gran Turismo or watch online stream videos beating other cars in drag and track besides the McLarren F1:D
I'm thinking about buying the R-32 (they costs less than $15K) and i wonder if they're street legal here in Nevada...
-
Lotus Carlton.
I do like the R32-34's though. So of the tuner mags have editors and readers with these in the US. I DO believe modfications are necessary. Hit them up, they'll have better answers for you. But they CAN be driven in the US after a few modifications.

No one knew? skylines were popular here.
what about a Honda NSX, Ford Escort Cosworth, Mazda RX-7, Nissan 300ZX?
Maybe not the best but some alternatives to consider?

Furball, in the US the NSX sells, but if I remember right, the models aren't as performant as those in Japan; e.g. the Szero and R aren't available.
The Cosworth I've never seen, the RX7 stopped being imported in 94, and the 300ZX got too fat in its later years.
The GTR's on its way to the US though, I think nearly everyone's heard about it.
-
I give credit to Gran Turismo series for introducing us to Skyline GTR. The Skyline is unbeatable in the game and in real life. The Skyline in real life pwned NSXs, Supras, and 300zx in JGTC in the 90s.
btw did this car competed in Le Mans?
-
Not that I know of, 1K3..
Furball, aren't there a new Esprit, and a new Europa in the works?
-
in Gran tourismo i bet qnything my Tuscan speed12 would anihilate any skyline :D heck, the Lancia Delta done up to the max will own a skyline on all but the test course ovals.
the skyline has good power but it turns like crap, imo (the game version, anyhow)
-
You don't say which Skyline, but the GTR with rear wheel steering is easily one of the best cornering machines.
It does anything you want it to, over or understeer, rip traction or stick to it, anywhere into, during, or exiting corners. It does take some getting used to, but do some time trials between it, a RUF RGT, and other cars of that level at the Complex String track, on Sim tires, and you'll see it's like a gecko on crack and steroids.

Best 90s car that I wanted really really really bad? Dodge Daytona.

Nissan didn't sell them in NA afaik... I know they didn't sell them in Canada. You have to import them, and it's something like a 15 year limit to importing here... I saw a 91 skyline on the road a few months ago. I wanna see the look on people's face in a right-hand drive at the drivethru.

Skylines are a bit porky to be called sports cars. But they are sweet cars. Even the RWD NA versions make great mod platforms.
-
It's said that the RB26DETT engine is strong enough to handle 800hp without internal mods(!) I guess the stock unmodded engine is reliable enough for daily driving abuse:D
-
geeez... 800 hp mod on a puny 2.6 liter engine??? Isn't that gonna kill the engine?

Shouldn't, the only thing you would NEED to worry about is how much boost to use.
