Just a little question. I was watching a program with a Spitfire IX in it, and I noticed yours is quite... whiney. This one sounded more like your Spitfire I. Less of a squeal, more of a deep thrum. Is the Spitfire IX I saw just unique? (It was modified, but only to make it a two seater. The engine, I beleive, is the same as it was in WWII)

I haven't used TB's sounds myself, but perhaps he didn't use an authentic Merlin engine sound for the Spitfires? Each Spitfire literally sounded the same, though the pitch and volume varied between different models, due to added horsepower and different superchargers (check out videos for Spit Is and Spit IXs to see this in action).
The Eng sound I use for all Merlin-powered aircraft in AHII is 100% authentic, recorded at Oshkosh just a few years ago. Whether or not TB used it in his packs, I'm not sure (though he can definitely use any of my sounds if he so wishes). However, just remember that on flybys, you're not just hearing the sound of the engine. You're also hearing the sound of the wind being cut be the airframe of the plane, something that AHII doesn't model.
In short, you have to listen very closely to hear the actual sound of the engine on a flyby video or recording.

Im talking about the sounds I heard from engine start to takeoff and landing. His sounds like a whine. The only complaint I have about this pack is that every plane sounds like a jet. Could you send me your Spitfire engine sounds please? Serenity@kg200.org

i added some supercharger "whines" to planes that were missing them
the spit 8 and 16 an 9 have the 2stage merlins that were closer
to the p51d thus i added that merlin sound
though u can change the sounds u dont like i put this togher using
a mix`s of the other guys plus the 1`s i made myself to complete
the pack
here is a video of 109G`s listen to them closely u can hear the "whine "
of the supercharger
109G version`s (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tq21MLP8gYI)

here is a video of a p51d flown by mark hanna
and a mk9 spit flown by mark hanna listen closely the
eng`s are dam near identical

Spitfire MK9 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLd57T3rnEE)

Yessir. And when I went back today, the spit sounded much better. I guess I was remembering a different sound... anyway, excellent pack!
