Title: Ju-87 G2
Post by: Xasthur on September 11, 2006, 01:27:18 AM
This is just a thought and might not be practicle but I was just wondering if it would be possible to have another variant of the Stuka available.

The current model is quite limited, as was the case in reality and I think that the G2 Kanonenvogel flown by the likes of Hans-Ulrich Rudel would add a new dimension to GV attacks with the wing-mounted 37mm cannons

Thanks for your time, guys.

Gets asked for alot. Even by me.

It would be a neat plane to have around, though get ready for the Tiger-lovers to start complaining now that you asked for it.

Needs to be perked.

But other than that, I want to see it in the game too.

AH's Il2 has 2 x 23mm YVA   very few were actually fitted with the NS 37 the implementation of which which was considered a failure on the IL2.

There was a Ju87 D# that was fitted with 2 x 20mm I believe.

Problem with the Ju87 G2 was the limited number of rounds in the 37mm.

You may as well fly the Hurri D

Yeah, but the Stukas cannons penetrate armor a lot better than the Hurricane IID. I think they do anyway. I know a Stukas 37mm cannon could take out just about any tank, provided you hit it in the right spot. It would be interesting blasting Tigers with that.
