I need a vote on tank town...
Would you prefer----
1. The standard tank towns we currently have in those other maps with the blank area around them.
2. Just some good old farm land to play hide and seek in the barns, houses and clusters of trees.
3. Rocky terrain could be fun with all the out croppings to duck behind alothough it will make the tanks bounce around a bit while moving.
4. we could just have some plane jane grass with the little hills and such but I think that might be a tad boring. :)
I would say forest except I don't know about the rest of you but I get massive FR hits when zoomed in on trees now from the last patch. So I would like to keep them to a minimum. The fam land has some but it should still be playable for those having similar problems.
If anyone thinks of another option that would be within the peramiters of MA rules and the editor we can add those to the vote also.
I would like to keep this a simple vote, majority rules type thing without a ton of text. I know that a bunch of players don't visit the forum so if you know someone that loves the GV thing and dosn't visit the forum let them know about this. I would like as many people as we can get to chime in on issues that I can put to a vote like this concerning the creation of this new map. We have lots of time as it will be some time befor this is ready for submission.

You can place barns, trees as objects on even plain grass or rocks.Just saying.

I say these two combined. Have the farm land with the spawns on those, but then put a ring of the rocky terrain towards the center. Helps with the whole spawn-tower-spawn-tower-spawn-tower-spaw......errr, you get the point! :D The farm land is the best, as when you spawn right in the open all the time and then have to run to hide right when you spawn or else your toast. I think I mentioned it before but place one of the large cities right in the middle, rocky terrain around that with farm land out side of that for the spawns. I like hiding in the barns where they have the sheep pens.... uh, yeah... Oh look a plane. :noid

But would HT allow placement of random extra object for an MA environment?
I thought that was a no no for MA maps (trying to keep complexity and such down) type thing.. I could be wrong.
Sketch when you say large cities are you talking about the usuall Tank Towns that are on trinity and such or are you thinking something different?
I'll also put up a current pic of the tank town area showing what I have and what I'm asking for.

For the city I am talking one of the large City-Cities... The ones that are marked with a 'C' on the map.
As far as the whole HT and extra stuff on the map, not sure. If so, take out the rocky terrain and just do farm land with the city in the middle. Would be nothing different that what we have now on the Trinity map. It would just ahve a different city and not as many spots to get stuck in, plus you have water and such around there with hills I think.

Sketch I would love to use the BIG cities as they fill up the entire tile and have hills and such in them but I can't seem to get them to be blank cities. Every time I put them in no matter what I do the game thinks they must belong to one side or other and the guns start firing if you happen to be on the wrong team. If anyone knows how to fix this my vote would be for them also.

Those are the ones that I would love to put in. I'll bet most Gvers would be happy with those type...

If the city (or cities) stay assigned to a country it will turn into a perk fest with nothing but ostis, m16s, m8s, Lancs, stukas................... bombing and shooting the buildings for points.
I agree though that the layout of the city would be a great change. I would vote for .. 2.

Flayd, I don't think there's any way around the ack if you use the city. I believe it must be country owned. Basically what I did was put the different country-owned cities close together to form one big city. It's pretty much as if each country owned their share of the city. If ya want to invade the other parts, ya gotta kill a few acks. I personally think it adds to the gameplay element. Think of it like Stalingrad, each side fighting for their piece of the pie. I also stationed inward facing shore batts that can shell the city from just outta visual range using land mode. I know that doesn't help w/ an MA map, but it sure is fun! Red leg, Red leg, fire mission, over!!:D

That would be fun rolling through there. It is kind of a run and gun or you have to find a good spot to hide and just attack out of the blue. Nice setup! The field ack is a good touch, I think it would help as after it pops back up and you have that guy sitting behind the spawn it starts shooting his way..... the he craps himself when he sees 50 Tigers all rolling up the hill at him! :O

While rangers looks real good I doubt that HT would allow that to be iplimented in a MA terrain... So I think we will still have to use 1 or a combo of the options I listed.. I put a post in the terrain editor forum asking skuzz if I could add barns and hills to the existing farm land or more biuldings to the existing tank towns to fill in the empty area around them. We'll see if I get a reply..
Other wise I 'm starting to lean tward the farm land in the center based on what you guys are saying. I know it's only been a day but I kinda thought there would be more people intrested in puting in a vote, it's not often someone lets the people playing the game decide things like this. Oh well people just better not whine at what we few decide :)

I'd like to see some rock terrain but not like the rock terrain like they had in AH I.
Those rocks looked like giant meatballs.

He doesen't necessarily need to stop work on it. For example, he can finish it and then submit it for download in the "Terrain Editor" forums. That way the proffesionals can take a look at it and tell him which things need to be changed to make it a "supreme" terrain. That will take at least 6 months to finish. By then HTC will be accepting larger terrains for sure.:aok

Cant you have about 300 puffy ack and 500 reg ack guns surrounding TT?

No Custom Objects! That requires to place loose objects on the terrain which HTC forbids.
