If you guys aren't turning on nasa tv occasionally, you're missing a good show. They're broadcasting live pretty much everything even remotely interesting with the shuttle mission. I've spent the last hour watching two astronaut's helmet cams as they unbolt launch restraints holding the new space station's solar arrays in place. Fascinating how difficult it is to remove a few dozen bolts out in space, and the planning required to do something as simple as change the socket on a wrench after breaking the primary socket.
Whoops forgot the link... It's on this page:

Lost bolts....BOOSH'S FAULT! ;)
Yeah, I've been watching it as a background while at work at the office for a year now. Its always a conversation topic when someone comes over for coffee chat.

Set as background... Like windows desktop background? How ya do that?

I meant just running on IE under all my other windows when I'm working.

Ah, ok. I had a freeware video player that would play DVDs or other windows media as desktop wallpaper and I was wondering if maybe windows could do that with streaming video. Since that freeware util could do it, there's no reason why MS couldn't let us set a streaming video feed as the wallpaper.

Whenever I watch NASA tv theres no volume...I usually fall asleep.
-
They're talking up a storm now...
There is a link to alternate ways to watch, including a standard windows media player feed that is suitable for fullscreen viewing.
-
Usually you can find a link via Space.Com
My Roadrunner doesnt seem to have that channel. My Dish used to, it was awesome to follow the shuttle/ISS missions on that in realtime. You really gain an appreciation and understanding of what they are doing up there.

Too much packet loss for me, too bad.. freakin telco

Moot try one of the other feeds there. They have several high and low bandwidth feeds. I had a lot of dropouts with the windows media player feed until I upped the playback cache to max... Now it buffers nearly a minute of video before playing, and it pretty much never drops out.

HARRR !! :D
The video's brightness is a bit high though.. I'm not sure if that's on the client front end or not.
-
They forgot to adjust the camera iris when he went into bright sunlight. It's better now :)
-
I watch it on tv...

The streaming video won't play for me on 2 of those websites posted. It's actually kinda disappointing.

Let me know when on some future shuttle mission they start studying and broadcasting sex from space.
Sex in weightless conditions. Now THAT would be interesting:D

They did a study on sex in space, they said that it would be extremely hard to keep in physical contact causing more sweat to be generated which would then float into the air. Fantastic!:aok
