A Shark In The High Blue by Christian Helmersen - {Simshell} that’s my name

Awake
out of my cot to sirens of are pray coming for us
I run to my bird
I climb into this Shark of mine
teeth so lethal engines so awesome
I sit in awe of my hunter in my cockpit
I thrust the power of its engines forward to the max of eternity as it feels to me
I climb and climb to higher levels of the sky
from the ground to the thin air of Germanys deathtrap
I make my fighting altitude
I hear
the radio flowing death through my ears the cries and screams of my friends meeting there brave doom in our war of ours
in this war of daily death and courage
ware aces are made and coffins are filled
soon I lay my eyes on my pray
the 4 Engine Metal Monsters flying for my land of mine
once again I make my stand to die for the Fatherland
once again I feel the urge to bail in such frightening streams of souls in the air
now is the time I feel it coming
I feel them coming into my sights
I run the speed far above any little friend can reach
or a thunderbolts dive from the skies above
I see them almost within my guns
in this moment I feel the tears pour down my face
the curse of humanity set on me
that curse of feeling life behind a plane
that curse of knowing that 1 kill of a 17 means really 10 kills in this short burst of hell and fire into there bodies
and as I light my trigger I see the wings of the beast light up like a tree
and as I pass
I see no plane
no soul in the air
no life lives in that space of air anymore
this is WW2 and its hell in the skies above .

Marvellous use of metaphor and alliteration.
Byron would be proud, but shouldn't this be in a literary forum?
