Title: Why????????
Post by: Hornet33 on September 14, 2006, 03:55:25 PM
Is everyone whinning and crying about the new format?? Some of the posts I've seen, people act like it's a personal attack against them that HiTech changed things around. Lets look at a healthy dose of reality here for a minute if that's possible.

1. HiTech OWNs the game and anything related to the name Aces High II. With that in mind Dale doesn't have to ask anybody's opinion about anything he wants to do to this game.

2. Your $15 a month is for a subscription only...not a stock option that might give you some say in how the company operates. If you don't like things about this game you are free to quit at any time with no penalty to you.

3. Most of the negative posts I've seen are coming from the same people that have regularly posted about how something needs to change to make the game better. You got a change be happy with it.

4. HiTech told everyone in the ORIGINAL post that there were going to be changes made to this format AFTER they have had a chance to see how it's working out. Give them some time before you go off on them.

5. Change can be a good thing. Give the guys at HTC a chance to tweak this sucker......with the product they have already developed I'm SURE they know what they are doing.

Remember that anyone can assume your an idiot. If you open your mouth you might remove all doubt.

What an eloquent response.  So full of insight, subtle wit and revelation.  Then, of course, the ad hominen attack, just to round out the offering.

Stupid, huh?  Try learning grammar, syntax and spelling before you call someone else stupid.

No I do not. However I do know that HTC is a privately owned and operated company. With that being the case, the product is for HiTech to do with as HE sees fit. After talking with him a couple of times at the Con, I know he has big plans for this game. Some plans people will like and others people might not like. He doesn't have to ask for permission or opinions from anyone. He owns this game and it's his right to do what he wants. Capitalism in action.

No please.......write a long response to my 1 question. Everything else I wrote were statements that doesn't require an answer as they are all facts that many have forgotten.

Oh and thank you for proving the last sentance in my statement true. I knew there'd be at least one.

Your kidding ? HT owns this game ? and he doesn't have to ask anyones permission either?
Never knew that
Think the big plans will be decided by minor things like cash flow, Customer trends I think but then again I'm not sure how all that complicated stuff works.

if people dont complain, the company will think everything is alright..... which is clearly isnt.

complaints about fuel porking, the chog, and FT all led to something being done.....

Well I had a positive feeling about the change until I had to sit looking at planes I can't fly in the hangar on several occassions. ENY... ENY.... ENY.

I think discussion is good. If your happy about it post it. If your not happy about it post it. However a little more info on why your happy or not happy might be a little more constructive.

As far as telling folks not to post their thoughts on the subject, communism is dead.....

Simple answer. Because that is what some people do. Make a change to anything in their world (even a virtual one) and they piss'n'moan like lil old ladies that just found out the bingo parlor's hours changed. It would be funny if it wasn't just so pathetic. To one degree or another, the same thing happens with ANY change HTC makes.

Yes, the above is true. It is also true that the customers who are truly unhappy with the product will vote with their feet. No one is compelled to  buy a product that doesn't suit them. More capitalism in action.

No the customer is not always right.  In fact some customers can be downright ignorant of basic facts and have no idea what they are talking about.   just read some of these posts. ;)

I swear some of you guys must not have much of a life if your world is shattered by a change in the game. You need to worry about the real things in life like feeding your kids, paying your bills or maybe even for some you getting a job. This is just a game we play in our free time (most of us) when we are not busy taking care of business. :aok

Customer is always right?

What happens when all the people paying 15 dolla's stops paying the 15 dolla's.What will HTC do then?

Seems like the La-7's in the LW arena don't have any targets.I was told long ago when learning to play AH " if you want to be good in a fighter you must start at the top of the fighter list with the A6m and work your way down the list flying each plane for a week each.By the time you get done flying the Yak you will know the positives and negatives of each fighter and know how to fight them when you are encountered".

A lot only know how to fly a few planes and had no desire to learn anything else and now it seems they are having a hard time.Sux to be them i guess.

There's always H2H where all the planes are enabled and people make crazy cool maps with orange sky's and a black sun and endless amounts of ammo with no cares in the world, kinda the way the GAME is suppose to b played........:aok

Very poor analogy. The demise of AW was directly related to it being owned and (mis)managed by a large corporation that had no clue about how to operate a game such as AW (and their being unwilling to admit that and deal with it).

Hmm, the "customer is always right"? Time will tell and since this same kind of tripe is trotted out each time HTC makes a major change.....my money is on them. :)

Aw was sinking when it was bought by EA.  Why EA bought it I have no idea.  There must have been some elements of the company they wanted.

Moogy and Mage (SP?).  I still remember their high handed approach to things.

I have suffered through the softening of the Buffs and the Buff guns.  I adapted and over came them.  I learned the old and present bomb calibration method.

I love the massive multi-player environment.  I see this whole change as an attempt to soften and breakup the massive community so that CT will be a hit.

I did my 20 in the USAF.  I have no desire to pretend to do it again in a massive multi-player role playing game.

I have been here since 2001 and perhaps a little longer before my registration in the forums.

I may not be here much longer.

Perhaps CT is AH's version of the AW Vietnam.

My $15 may will not impact the bottom line.  I times a couple of hundred will.

Final word.  Nuff said.  No longer monitoring this forum or any others.

Post by: hubsonfire on September 16, 2006, 12:16:32 PM
CT isn't aimed at us. CT is supposed to attract a different playerbase, but since ignoring all official statements from HTC is a popular way to support misguided opinions, I don't know why I bothered.
Title: Why????????
Post by: Hornet on September 16, 2006, 12:27:11 PM
Ironic that someone would try to bring AW into this argument since AW had segemented arenas since the day they decided to run Half-time and Real-time concurrently. Probably the highwater mark for AW financially came on AOL when there was at least 7-8 different main arenas running.

The critical flaw with the old MA was that there was no reason for HTC to add any more planes...it would be a waste of development time creating future hanger queens that would be unable to displace any of the preferred late war models that were the choice weapons of the horde.

Now HTC has more flexibility, it actually moves AH farther back towards a 'sim' rather than game. It allows more of a focus on historical matchups and allows more aircraft to shine. It creates MAs that support skill development by aircraft that players can take back into the future CT. It will also create more tactical options by era if the 'strat' guys would stop their bleating long enough to think about it.
