Well,
Reference was made to WWI and Korea in the "arena changes" announcement. Since that particular ball's in play, let me kick it around.
Will HTC now be willing to accept player-contributed planes? There's a much stronger reason now to add new ones - early WWII stuff, and as HTC itself has speculated, WWI and Korea.
The same applies for early-war vehicles - might even be a greater need for them than for aircraft. HTC has done pretty well out of player-contributed maps and skins, so, will we now also be able to contribute planes and gvs?

This has come up before and always get promptly shot down- something about the AH powers-that-be not wanting to grant others access to the codes and parameters used in programming the game.
The terrain and skin mapping apparently doesn't fall under that, but several of us have offered to do aircraft ourselves that HTC seems to have no interest in doing just so we can have them in the game (ie- P-39D, I-16, IAR-80/81, Ki43, G4M have all been proposed). No go so far, but maybe they'll change their minds someday. :)

I thought had more to do with the fact that the licence for the 3D modeling sofware used by HTC was worth somthing like $8000.00...
You cant just use some free download off the net to model the planes because the software has to be able to assign a number of attributes to each "part" that makes up a plane....
I could be wrong here but I recall reading it in a thread somewhere...

Yeah, have heard those before. Just wondering if HTC, having made the bed of multiple arenas, is now willing to lie in the bed of player-contributed content. They had enough trouble keeping a steady flow of new planes into one arena, let alone four.
Just wondering, anyway. Can't hurt to ask.

Yeah, thanks, I remember that.
Just wondering if the view has changed, now that the world has changed.
