Title: racing sims?
Post by: Grayeagle on September 15, 2006, 02:26:27 PM
Ok .. I have been outta the loop for games for awhile now ..

..found GT Legends website just now, was wonderin if any of yas
have tried it out?

Also read what I could about netkar and netkar Pro .. the review stated ya need the analysis software from AIM .. and the link goes to AOL's AIM messenger . . too funny!!

GT Legends appeals to me .. would like to thrash a Cobra or Vette ..mebbe do some demolition derbies with Mustangs (evil grin).

Any of you run online in Legends as part of a team or?

-GE (was *into* Papyrus GPL and their Nascar series for awhile)

rFactor is currently the king: http://www.rfactor.net/

GTR2 looks great, I will definately pick it up when it arrives on shelves, but I don't think it will be able to touch rFactor for realistic physics and network play.

Uh oh ... do you know if GTR2 has it? I replaced a CD Drive which turned out to be perfectly fine because of that crap!

I don't have it yet, but according to forums, it does not have SF protection.

If you can suspend disbelief at the old school graphics and sound quality, you'll find Live for speed has great physics, multiplayer gameplay, netcode, and a good community.
It's sort of the Aces High of racing sims.

GTL is great.  I race in a league here:  http://gtl.tmcarthur.net/
rFactor is my 2nd favorite.  Check out http://www.rfactorcentral to see all the available cars and tracks.  When I'm not racing or practicing for my GTL league I'm driving the 1979 F1 cars.
Live for Speed is, like the man said, the AH of racing sims.  Definitely the best for online racing 24/7.

Just remember that asphalt is for getting there, dirt is for racing.
If you don`t have dirt in your beer, you`re not at the races. :)

Mondo..

You race in the Warbirds League with Rafter, DoK, Cabby, etc.?

I raced in both their GPL and NASCAR leagues for a while.

Had a great time in both leagues.

I was Cobra Johnson :)

I race GTL, LFS, and currently waiting for GTR2.

In LFS OWRL is fun, but I'm not an open wheel fan. GTL is my favorite, especially the 65 GT, 65 GTC area. Sadly I didn't had time to race anything for the last 4 months... dam for 16H duty days.:cry

Will see u guys in GRT2 in a week, let's create the AH league hehehe.

GTL appeals to me due to the early vette, cobra, .. an .. smashin up mustangs :)

I have a Momo from Logitech which I'm happy with.

 .Logitech Momo & G25 (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/productlist/US/EN,crid=2215,categoryid=411)

If you mind the extra $$$, the G25 is the said must have. I guess it all depends on how serious you want to be with your driving experience, some have a $500 setup, and drive with all the driving aids on:lol
