 Host changes

We made the following host changes today to address some of the issues that have come up so far.

Added a dot command to find other players online. The command is ".f playerID" typed into your text buffer with playerID being the ID of the person you are looking for.

Added a dot command to send a page to another player in a different arena. The command is ".p playerID message text" with playerID being the ID of the person you want to page and message text being the message you want to send.

Your squad text channel now works across all arenas that your squad is established. (Will work across all Main Arenas, perhaps other arenas as well)

A player can now belong to a separate country for each type of main arena. Country change times are also independent between main arena types.

Fixed issues in the ENY side balancing system that was disabling field guns and could disable all planes if sides became too unbalanced.

Some early planes are no longer retired from service in the mid and late arenas.

Hangar hardness in the early war arena is 75% of the mid and late war arenas.

A new main arena of the same type will be added to the arena list when an arena becomes 90% full.

Excellent! Would be even better if HTC would extend those dot commands (.f and .p) to all arenas.

Unless I am mistaken Pyro is refering to the RED Squad channel so Let me be premtive here, cause I can see alot of ppl asking why there channel is not working across the arenas or is only working for some of their squadies...

Your Real squad channel is NOT the Yellow tuned channel (100 upto 199 IIRC)

Your Real squad channel IS the RED text Channel

THe RED channel is the text channel that is NOT moderated and (IIRC) will be seen by your squadies even if they are not tuned to it.

For those of you who are saying WELL DUH MUSSIE!!!. There are those who are not aware of this and think that theYellow tuned channel is there squad channel.....[/B]

NOW CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG HERE BUT:
This may cause problems for Large squads that may have more than one group such as

Squad List (http://www.flyaceshigh.com/frindex.html)

! 68th Lightning Lancers !   68Falcon 5
! 68th Lightning Lancers !   68KO 31

As they will not be able to communicate with the whole squad via the RED squad channel.

IE:  68Falcon 5 and 68KO 31 cannot communicate via the RED text Channel because technically they are not in the same squad....

.f gameID and .p gameID both work.

And of course, by squad channel, HTC means squad channel.

Squads are capped at 32 players for a reason. If you all decide to make ten 32 player squads your 'squad' don't ***** that HTC doesn't support that.

As the CO, you may continue to send out invitations for up to 32 squad members.

A squad that big and you don't run a Teamspeak or Ventrilo server? Instead of whining and crying why not look into starting one?

Ya know Bruno, reading your response really makes me feel like telling you to go and get ******

But By now I should know better and make sure I spell out every little pucking detail so that ppl do not have to think for them selves...........

SO I suppose I should have made it clear that I was not *****ing about the change in fact I like the change and am waiting with baited breath to try it....

 Have A Look Here (http://www.flyaceshigh.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=2169900#post2169900)

I was MEERLY trying to make sure that every one was aware of the mechanics of the squads and the correct squad channel in an attempt to stop ppl complaining that they cant communicate with squadies on the Yellow channel or those in another group....

Later

For the record, only 1 LTAR squad, with Moil as the CO.  28 members at the moment, I believe.

The other LTAR squad has 2 members that evidently havent played for a long long time.  Could be a knock-off or a legacy thing from years ago.

Also an LTAR Special Forces squad, also with only 2 members, which again is not the original.

Just FYI -- as if anyone cares . . . :lol

Made several tests and attempted different things, but as of right now none of the new commands .p & .f or the Squad channel work.

Perhaps they are being worked on or  perhaps they only work if you have certain system or game rights.

Like when HT insisted that a player could submit more then one mission at a time.  Only to find out that HT and the reset of his staff could do it, but not the paying public.

I dont know if you need to use squad or private channels for those DOT commands. I think Pyro was saying that you can communicate across all arenas with them. I would have thought that the dot commands are channel independant. mind you I Have not had the chance to log in yet and find out...

Not a problem Dichotomy, glad it was of use....

HiTech, is it possible to add other arenas to the hub as well? Like TA, DA, AvA and SEA?

IINM, no dot commands are channel specific. I typed my pages into 200, and they were sent to the correct people in the correct arenas. If you forget the dot, it just dumps whatever you typed into the text buffer on whatever channel you had selected.

Another request along these lines.

It would be ENORMOUSLY helpful to enable an all arena "who's online" squad list or even a limited buddy list. We cant just check the vox list with the "/" key anymore, since we'd only see who's connected to the same arena. We could conceiveable send repeated ".p" commands, but that would be a major pain.

No expert, but it seems to me whatever is lost by doing this would be gained back(at least in part) by not have every new arrival chasing down his/her buds on text.

And why stop there. Make a complete all arenas roster. Then you can click on an CS and type to them right off.

Yah, I expect a lot for 15 bucks.  :lol
