Hello chaps just a quick straw poll is what I'm after. How did us Brits hear of Aces High?
Advert in the UK ? if so where ?
Advert on ISP Home page ? what ISP ?
Did a SIM search ?
From word of mouth ?
From players in another sim ?
Myself, I heard from players in another sim and found that first SIM on ISP home / Games.
Thanks maties. I am hatching a plot to try and increase UK player base leading to more targets err players in off peak period. :aok

hehe I try to recruit evryone I work with, more new pilots = more people I may be able to shoot down!
Its like a pyramid scheme!:p
omg I'm frighteningly not britiish.. I'll leave now

i just stumbled on it one day when doing a search for aces high song.
since then i got hooked damn song
not publicity in europe and england tho i think they should do something
-
Heard about it from a friend who played, I am not playing anymore though due to various things in the game which i disliked.
I am glad I did leave as well what with the recent potential squad break ups with this introduction of player caps and limited aircraft choice in some arenas :/
On a side not I do miss the people, the game for me was more about the community and friends I made, but I unsub'd cos I figured there was no point paying for a game I didnt enjoy anymore.

As Air Warrior was dying there was talk of this fledgling WWII air combat sim that could herald a new future

I swear to God, I found it while trying to find a free online poker game.

6 .50 cals beats a straight flush ;)

I proposed new methods to increase awareness of a different game they didnt listen werent pro-active in getting new players hooked so I was ignored.
The main factor I see is tapping into people either interested in history (WW2) or in flying or even better both.
I went to an airshow and thought hey it would be nice to find a game where you could fly these planes. Airshows always have plenty of space for tents or stalls etc. Having a laptop with a joystick shouldnt be hard to setup.
I'm all for increasing the UK player base I started my squad especially for us to group together 3 years ago.

Here in the states they advertise on Discovery Militery channel (don't know if you have that in GB). It targets the right audience, as the Madison Ave types would say.

We have a UK version but a $1.76 = 1 Pound. Don't think HTC would wanna handle the exchange rate.
never seen an advert in the UK
Never heard of any Brit seeing an advert here either.
Thanks all for your input. Seems to show a big potenticail thats note been tapped. Please keep it coming if you havn't already replied:aok

I hope HT advertises in UK--have never met a Brit on AH who wasnt great guy to fly with:aok
-
Wouldn't it be cool as hell to get a British 11 head to head Vs a US 11? Time zones would crew it though.
-
After years on WB numbers starting flagging badly when WB2 was introduced. For some reason I couldn't get good connect to WB2 so looked at other online sims & AH seemed the best.
:)
-
I have never seen a advert for AH2 in my life i found this game out of pure luck just searching for free stuff on the net :aok if i saw an advert for it tho even tho i had the game id be like right im having a do :D .

As a Brit living 'over there', which side would I qualify for :D ?
You could do something at the weekends - lunchtime in California is only early evening UK time.

Thanks for the quick straw poll. It seems word of mouth and sheer plain good luck is the dominant factor so far.
I'll see if I can punt some info to HTC's to mull over.
