Back after a 3 year hiatus.
As some of you older guys will know or remember me & the =357th Pony Express=, I have dropped back in to see how progress in the game is coming along. Starting in open beta in 1999 and flying up to 2003 I had seen a lot of changes to AH. I have been on flying for the last 2 days trying to scrap the rust off.
My return coincides with the new arena setup. I don’t have a problem with the new arena setup. Fights are easy enough to find. My 1st day back was spent augerin as I could not figure out how the damn scaling, deadband and damping was saved. After some frustration and time i figured it out and now just need to pick up a Stick with a damn hatswitch.
The new arena setup will stay. I know HT and what a lot of the guys here forget is he was flying online flightsims when a lot of the guys here where in diapers;) So don’t think he does not know what you guys are crying about. He has been in your shoes.
Now a question for those that may know. Ran into my old Squadie Spatula 1st day back.
Good to wing with him. Also great fight with Nomde against him and his p47. Another guy I used to run into a lot. But, is Cit (Fester), Hblair, Torque, Westy, Rude still up and flying?
I am flying under the handle Warrdog for now, I will email HT to get my Wardog handle back.
I have forgot everthing, couldn’t even exit the plane. Hate getting old. Someone please tell me what key is for the dive brakes?

The key combo for dive brakes is alt + f4 :) . Nice to see ya back

Really good to see you back again dog :D Really good fun wingin with ya again. Ya just gotta sort that auger issue out and you'll be back barkin n bitin.
Hey, i just bought, for a song, an old analog CH Throttle, and CH F16 Combat stick HOTAS combo. Didnt need it, i just bought it on general principle. I got a USB Fighter Stick and USB pro throttle. Its a few years old now, but looks in good nick (aint tried it). Make me an offer on it if you can handle analog gear. Mind you might be expensive to ship around the world? Just a thought.

Thats what i used to have Spat, CH Combat Stick Pro. It was showing its age and ended up getting a USB Logitech Attack 3. Cant believe anyone would make a J Stick in this day and age without a Hatswitch or 2. They had a force feedback version with hats on it, but if i want my hand & arms massaged ill wait till January when im in Thailand.

Of coarse i remember you. Though i am not seeing to many familiar names in the arena's. I am still Bish, but may switch to wing with ya if your still flying. Puttin time in on the 38L and havent had a chance to try the p51D.

I can usually be found in the Mid War arena... been flying knight but that's just because they seem to have the lowest #'s in that arena lately.

I hadn't seen rude in years, but he was flying in the early war arena yesterday. Said he had just resubscribed.

Rude's been around but not playing very much at all. Said he was eager to give the EW a try though. Seems to be about the fight.

I havnt seen Fester in a long while. Right after his map got released if I remember right. He used to float around here tho.

Toad, long time no see. Ill see if i run into him in the EWA. Me and Otto go back 16 years in the online sim thing. Hope to see him up.
Soul, been in all the arena's, but MWA seems to have low numbers at 3:00am :) Will try to hook up with ya for a sortie or 2.
Looks like Kirin is also coming back, seems the new arena has perked the interest of some of the oldtimers.

Saw ol' fester night before last in EW. He was "trying" to knock the rust off....only landed 6 kills in the p38g
Anyways he is out and about. He also said he was gonna try and do a new map to better fit the new arena's. Only issue he mentioned was he wasnt sure if he remembered HOW to make said map:rofl
Think he's getting a lil long in da tooth!!:huh

I made the b17G default skin and some skins for the p40 p38G and p51d and I built Two Main Arenas (FesterMA and also built the OzKansas MA which was built for Rude and 13th TAS and named in memory of OzKansas) before my most recent hiatus from Ah. I had not flown for a couple months but started flying again a few weeks back I love the EW arena lots of p38G flying hehe its the 262 of the early war lol!
wldcard remembers correctly about the map I am contemplating making finally I can make it in the size I wanted to in the first place... 256x256. and since AH2 came out Ihave to learn how to do map making again my maps were made for AH1 and converted by HTC. all the custom textures and towns and details were lost in the conversion which was tragic too me. I thought my maps were the ultimate in ground and air battles combined but my opinion is biased. been unsatisfied ever since ah2 came out with the big triangle hills and complete lack of any open field ground battles and usable hull down positions in AH2. I hope to remedy that to my tastes with a new map of my own design tailored to similar customness prevalent in my pre ah2 conversion detailed maps. but who knows what htc will allow.
Rude still shows up sometimes but I think Hblair moved on and Torque last I knew was playing a little bit in the H2H arenas under a different name.

Wish some of those guys would come back around, and give it another shot.
