Title: Hardcore
Post by: Reynolds on September 18, 2006, 06:29:01 PM
Okay, whenever I log into an online arena, my game crashes because a bunch of hardcore-porn popups come up. Its always the same ones and only when in an online arena. When I play offline, its fine, but when I log on, the screen shrinks and the porn enlarges. WTF?!? This is very new, just started today.

ghosts in the machine.

you have a virus..have you done a scan lately?

trend micro has a free online scanner, and usually has a solution. It may not get all of the spyware and viruses but it's a start.

Of course the obvious  "STOP SURFING PORN!" need not be mentioned:eek:

good luck!

lol. I dont have time to surf porn, im too busy babysitting a squad! But, I am in the process of a scan as we speak. So far, two viruses have already been found, as well as 17 'Suspicious Content'. But its only Aces High that does it. My other online games didnt do this. Nor does surfing the web. Its only when I play AH on line.

Yep housecall is good. Make sure you read the links on how to get rid of what it finds. Copy them so you can refer to them (print'em off if you can).

Let us know how you make out. We gotta keep ya flying.

Worst case scenario, you end up reformatting and reloading windows, but there's tricks to that too.

Chin up Bro' we all been there, and it's fixable.

cheers,
RTR

You know anyone what has a copy of an antivirus software on a cd? some of them let you do a virus scan right from the cd unless your system is fubar'd.

If not, hope you have a way to backup all the stuff your saving (not the porn either). Reformatting is a huge pain in the butt, I done it enough times!

Porn has a lot of spyware/viruses in it (dont ask me how I know, trust me on it)

LOL!!! I dont know where it could have come from, I only use that computer for  things, Aces High, Aces High Forums, and my website. Although sometimes my mouse goes skitzophrenic (It moves randomly super-fast around, randomly clicking things, taking me to websites, one time it hit the shutdown-computer) so I never know what its doing, the mouse moves too fast for me to follow it. And im about 3/4 of the way through the scan, and so far 11 infections have been found (My mum decided to delete all of our antivirous a month or two ago, so we have been unprotected :cry)

you got a nasty one.....might want to try "hijack this" and ewido also. it kinda sounds like the last one i had 6 mos. ago. it woulsn't let me open task manager or msconfig or even hijack this for that matter. finally had to re-format (3 times) and clear my cmos because it got into my mobo and kept coming back after the format, even though i left the cable unplugged. free porn isn't free

lol. I DONT WATCH PORN!!! lol. Like I said, no idea where it came from. I really dont have time for that kind of thing. But it worked meatwad, I think, THANKS!!! One think, dont know if it is related to this, but one was called trojan_general.AH  Not sure if that AH might be something related to Aces High, but ya never know. Caught my eye. Two of the trojans couldnt be deleted, so I stuck them in a folder, and tucked it FAR FAR away, where no one will ever find it, and it may rot in all the hells there are.

If you have ActiveX enabled in your Internet Security, then that is where it came from, more than likely.  Even if you use an alternate browser, you can get nailed as long as ActiveX is enabled.

Take note though.  Some legitimate sites actually use ActiveX.  Heck, some programs use it, such as McAfee, Norton (yeah, go figure, virus and security software would require you to have the thing enabled which is the biggest security hole on the Internet), Intuit products....
