if you save $1.00 a day for 186 years you will have $67,000, (numbers rounded off)

I can't believe that guy gets paid for writing articles like that. Next week he'll be telling us that smokers should quit because in a few decades' time, they'll save up an enviable nest-egg in cigarette money.
NO BS!
-
he forgot to tell you, that in 30 years, $67,000 will be worth about a dollar in todays market.

but if you put it in the bank the interest should give you more than the inflation of the $ and then some.

So.............all I have to do is put a dollar in a jar every day and prey to god I live 186 years so I don't lose out on the $67,815? sounds easy, except the living 186 years part, that might pose a minor problem.
Oh well teh lose change fits better in the soda machine at work, I think I'll keep it there instead.

I'm to lazy to go to the bank and I'm to fat to resist the dollar menu. I'm screwed.

this dude is takin the mickey, surely.
Not bad for pocket change, but that's just the beginning.
Here are some other ideas for saving a few bucks here and there that can add up to big dollars over time.
Trim your expenses to save more
Take-out vs. dining out once a month
(weekly saving)$45
(anual saving)$540
Manicure less often
$15
$180
Fewer trips to car wash
$12
$144
Video rental vs. movie monthly
$11
$132
Regular coffee instead of cappuccino on weekdays
$40
$480
Total
$123
$1,476
If you can knock this $123 out of your monthly budget, at 10% it will grow to $278,040 in 30 years. You've practically financed your retirement with just a few small sacrifices.

i feel like adding 'standing in the rain to save shower water', or 'instead of going to disney land with the kids, let them watch the comercial for space mountain at home saving you $500!! wow kicking yourself fo not thinking that one yourself arnt you.'
'hey, save money on seeing your favorite band live in concert, buy the CD and listen to it on your stereo! that could save you $300 or more!'
i wonder if he ever had a manicure and a car wash in one day, what a rush of recklessness that must have been

Anyone who pays to have their fingernails clipped has little concept of frugality.
