Ok guys in gals finnaly fixed me old computer and at the same time bought a new one. Basicly i wanna know how the new computer will work for aces high II. here r the gaming specs below.
PCI-Epress ASUS EN7600GS SILEND/HDT 512MB(ret)
CPU intel P4 2.66 GHz Dual Core 533mhz 2mb 775-pin(
and 2 gig of ram.
19 flat LCD screen
With this setup can i run alll my graphics maxed out?

512 GTRX video/graphics card
What is that? I'm not familiar with this card.
As for the rest, you can certainly turn the details UP, but I don't now about maxing it. Maxing it out requires a very good 3D card, and without further info I honestly couldn't make a guess.
Looks like you shouldn't have any major problems, though! :aok

ok just found the "order form for the computer it says this for video card
PCI-Epress ASUS EN7600GS SILEND/HDT 512MB(ret)

Ooooh, "Tha'll do"
That's a pretty good card. Not the best but should give you no worries. I'm *guessing* you can run full detail sliders and all the works without any slow-downs. You may get occasional stutters with 1024 texture resolution, and I think HTC suggests 512 for folks with high end systems. Give it a shot and see. You have enough ram that you can preload all textures and save the loading hicup when you see new skins and the like.

Cool whats the deal with lag should i have any trouble with lag, im using a DSL high speed connection.....o and would i be able to run animated water?
o and u probly dont know what would my FPS be with setttings on default and setttings maxed?
-
You would, it just looks like arse ;)
Lag depends on your connection to the server. I can't help ya there.
-
rgr what about FPS with settings maxed and unmaxed. So the animated water looks crapy?
-
Many of us think it looks worse than "normal" water. It's a subjective thing. Try it out.
As for FPS: Try it and see. I don't know what you "should" get. But if you go offline, move to a CV, up a plane, and set a B24 on fire, then position your view to show BOTH the CV and the burning B24, and you get 60+ you're golden.
-
Two problems with animated water -
1) As has been stated, doesn't look good.
2) I lose my depth percerption (alt ways), very distracting.
YMMV.
-
Ok so i can turn graphics up jsut most likly wont be able to MAX out?
-
Give it a shot and see. Chances are you can run it full out, just not with 2000x1000 resolution and not with 8xFSAA and 16xaniso, etc etc.
-
lol can u put that in NON computer letternt terms lmao????
-
Uh.... "It'll run real fast, just don't overdo it" :P
-
lol ty!

<--still waiting for new Computer :furious

goldelks your new pooter will run AH just fine. As far as running the high res pack at 1024x768, experiment with it a bit. You won't know what it will do untill you try it out.
My best guess is, that running at 512 with all detail sliders maxed out you will see a huge diffrence in what you have seen before.
You should be able to at least run your screen resolution at 1024x768 (or better) and 512, as a start. Tweak away young fella (or old fella..u never know these days ). It's all uphill from here!
Seriously, you are looking at a huge improvement over what you had before.
Animated water?....looks really good from ships and PT boats, from the air...well...maybe we just ain't used to it yet.
ps...appreciated your post about warps. <> Sir!
cheers,

I never have animated water on. I cant judge altitude when flying over it. Kept augering into it, so after a week i turned it off for good.
Only time i ever had it on was on Karelia map when in T34.... was better distinguishable from the harmless swamps.

Even with my older 6800GT vid card, going to a dual core cpu let me really bump up the detail sliders and use 1024 textures.
HT's latest round of gfx optimizations helped, but before the dual core cpu I couldn't get the sliders up past halfway and I used 512 textures. With the dual core cpu, sliders are up a bit and 1024 textures work fine. Yea it *shouldn't* have been that big of an effect, but it was...

no bigei about the warping post just explaining it to people

lol i cant run my computer full and i think i have have decent computer... my frames wont go over 60 ....
-
Chimp what is the refresh rate on your monitor? You won't get any FPS higher than what your monitor's refresh rate can display.
-
Max settings aren't such a big deal. My ancient Barton rig runs max detail/distance with 512 textures and everything checked except water and disable wepons effects. Running 1280x1024 @ 4xAA. Totally fluid gameplay with no stutters ever. I couldn't tell you fps cause I don't care and never display it.:)
